    Well, I finished it, and a few hours later the Death Match was avalible to download - good timing.

    Have to say, last few levels, the two set in the citadel, the final 'boss', and the ending in particular were very poor. Didn't strike me in the least bit arty or clever, just annoyed me that there was so little to it, it explained nothing, and really, was a complete anti-climax.

    Lazy.

    Just finished it. I thought the ending was good as it differed from the usual FPS kill the huge boss type ending. I like the way it leaves you begging for more. I thought the citadel was stunning. Valve kept the last levels short and sweet imo, and the grav gun upgrade just at the right point to put a smile on your face.

    More explanation would have been better but I suppose thats why Half Life is what it is.

    silent ben the matrix trillogy was utter pants too, worse than the HL2 one tho

    since HL3 is in the works tho you can let valve off for the ending, as the 3rd game should explain stuff

    but the matrix....no that was a poo ending

    Have they deffo started work on HL3? Where is this?! Good if they have. I think that the Source engine will be good for HL3 with a few tweaks here and there. Shouldn't look too dated in a year or so.

    One thing is for sure... the ending was geared for a third installment.
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    Yeah, a year or so as the official release date, but then no doubt it will be held up again for around another year !

    Currently heading through Ravenholm on it, firing the saw blades with the gravity gun is realy fun, sawing the zombie things in half. That huge metal dog had me in stitches especially when it was going to pick up the huge bin to play fetch with !!

    I thought the bit with the airboat was a bit lame, albeit looking fantastic, think they done that just to pad it out a bit. In FPS games I dont like it to much when they do full uge sections in vehicles, think its a bit of a waste of time and effort. I was starting to get pretty bored with it towards the end.

    Pretty chuffed everything but the water is set to high detail and running in 1024x768 res, running really smooth. Vampire : Bloodlines I can only run in 800x600, must be bad programming by Troika. Valve have got this engine perfect for all users as I currently have an FX 5700 LE in my machine due to probs with my Rad 9600 Pro.

    Reminded me of Live and Let Die on the Amiga... classic! But stupidly hard

    Just trying to get through the courtyard ambush scene without my squad getting themselves killed. Why is it always the medic that dies first?

    Just found a great thing for getting over fences in some places, stand on something you can move with the grav gunn, look at your feet, and use the push function with the grav gun and you fly into the air as the object bounces off the floor into you
