Of all time, Laser Squad. Although in terms of current gaming, I just bought Medieval 2, and I can't imagine anything bettering it except possibly the next Total War game.

Total Annihilation is my fave strat ever and i really cant wait for Supreme Commander... not long now.

Darwinia is an amazing game, though can't quite decide if it is a strategy or puzzle game...

Dawn of War variations are loat of fun, and very well balanced with loads of variety.

Homeworld 2 ftw. In fact I might reinstall it this evening to test it out on my 7800GT. Only ever played it on my old old GeForce 4 Ti4200 :\

If I'd play a strategy game in a competitive circumstance though it'd have to be Warcraft 3 or C&C:Generals!

Homeworld 2 looks beautiful on any modern vid card. Great game.

However Supreme Commander is where it's going to be at, you just wait and see. The amount of tactical options in this game is quite amazing...once you get used to the changes it's very much like Total Annihilation.

You'll need a good PC to run it - I'm using x1950xt 256Mb and Core2duo @ 3.3Ghz. On high settings mind. I wouldn't want to play it on anything less than a Conroe and X1800XT / 7800GT with 2Gb of RAM.

Keep playing me and danroyle (on these forums) vs someone I used to play on C&C, a complete games nut called GamesMaster/XArmourZero. Even two of us can't take him down. He changes tactics every game, so far he's won via Mass land force, ship bombardment, resource drainging via high tech gunship fleet, air superiority, artillery bombardment and less night - Nukes. Once we remember to counter all these strategies I feel we'll have him beat
