Im curious though, do I always have to use my own card reader, or could I just borrow someone elses who is also with Natwest, cause dont the numbers you punch in, identify who you are, rather than that of the machine?
Still means i've got to find space for a stupid little thingummy in my bag as I do a lot of my finances at work... and it's a girl-bag, so it's got plenty of useless thingummies in it anyway.

Nat West sent one through to me many months ago but I've not used it because of reading what was on here re portability etc.

You can request a second one though can't you?

I've seen that option on the RBS digital banking site, and as they are the same company I would guess it would be the same for NatWest

You can. You can also try asking at your local branch - I got one, they just went and got one from round the back and gave it to me.

Barclays on the other hand are extremely anal with theirs and wont even give one to you in their branch - neither will they let you order one into a branch. Has to go to my home address apparently.

I've got one for both HSBC and Natwest. If you have lots of accounts I imagine it could get a pain in the bum, I'd rather have two of each so I can have on at work.
To err is human. To really foul things up ... you need a computer.

The more I'm reading into this the less I'm looking forward to actually having the damn thing. So much for progress
My only concern is should I hide my true identity? A costume maybe?

0iD: Plus weeing in it every now & again does it good
scaryjim: 10" is just a little large to hold comfortably in one hand, which makes it a lot harder to tap, swipe and generally interact with.

I mostly see it as a giant step backwards as far as handling my bank account goes.

Re: Natwest Internet Banking Card Reader :-)

IMO, the idea is not bad... I have had one for quite a while now, probably more than a year. It hasn't resulted in much inconvenience to me but now there is very little chance that someone can steal my money online even if they have my usercode, online pin and password.

Just received mine today and according to the letter that came with it; "This change to you OnLine banking service will start automatically within the next 21 days...." By my reckoning that means it's pretty much a mandatory requirement - once they've notified you that you're getting one, there's no going back.

It's quite a dinky little device really, barely bigger than the card itself. I'm guessing it's a newer version as I've read about people complaining about its size.
