i'm not sure how or what it does but there is something that effects the os drive/partition.
It doesn't seem to effect data drives.

Looks like one hell of a board. Cant wait until I get mine back from RMA. the first one had to go back as it was DOA & now the supplier has no stock
no need we're talking about Sata access mode Changinfg Sata Access mode & existing XP installHave you configured the RAID array in the controller's BIOS?
Just laughing asus have done it again Asus P35 Family 10 boards No wonder punters struggle to identify the differences.
Good grief that is going to make it confusing.
And I wonder if the Blitz extreme is going to have a built in whistle?
very likely. And I wonder if the Blitz extreme is going to have a built in whistle?
When you think that there were 3 at launch p5k deluxe wifi , p5k3 deluxe wifi & the vanilla that's 7 mobos You started this thread 11-05-2007 which was a few weeks before the official p35 launch, Asus can't be far off an average of a new p35 each week
just passing on some info in case anyone doesnt know but the main thing that AHCI does is adding NCQ to drives that support it. the RAID setting is just AHCI + the ability to set up raid arrays. and yeah HAS to be done during os install with f6 floppy driver disk. So the majority of the time you should select the RAID option so that even if you're only using one drive, u add NCQ and can add a raid array at a later point.
ps, I asked this is another thread but figured I'd ask here as well but with my p5k wifi deluxe and Q6600 when I try to overclock it just stays a default freq. Is there a jumper/setting that I'm missing to overclock?
I've replied to you in the other thread
You sure must have missed something. No jumper needed. I can only recommend taking a good read at Clunk's two guides here. They are very helpful, even for people who already know the basics on overclocking. Follow it step by step, and i think you cant go wrong. If it still doesnt work after that, please provide us with some more detailed info about what settings you have tried, detailed setup, bios version, etc.

Apogee series s775 motherboard backplate now available Miust have been listening to you clunk, hope they've posted the cheque
I wonder why they are doing it for free? Usually when companies do stuff like that, its because of safety concerns, or because a product is failing miserably in a certain area...I dont think the Apogee GTX is either of those?
Now where did I put that receipt
Not sure. I've not seen any issues. Maybe they've tested it , particulaly in quads, as you did, and thought it worthwile to get an edge on the opposition. D-Tek have been taking most of the plaudits recently with the fuzion.I wonder why they are doing it for free?
Maybe you didn't charge enough
