Re: Your most recently watched movie/film?

    Les Mis.

I took my partner to London back in Feb (when the film also came out) to see the musical on the West End and not only was she blown away but I actually found myself getting a bit emotional and totally immersed in the experience. I'm not a musicals kinda guy, so it was really strange for me.

So I picked up the Wolverine-version on Bluray on Friday and gotta say that I really enjoyed it. It's not as good as the live show, but it's still fun. It does feel like the director had lots of backgrounds to work with and things, which you obviously don't have at a live show, but the director decided to focus solely on close-ups which was difficult for 2.5 hours.

Hairspray and before that man of steel.

thought the latter was pretty darn good and thanks to the constant shakey camera work I was glad not to have seen it in 3d.

Man of Steel on Friday (2D) - Enjoyed the film, was never much of a superman fan but still enjoyed it. Collateral damage mean anything to you Clark?

Watched 'Internal Affairs' (Richard Gere) the other night with friends..was okay but a little big dated and the ending was about as unoriginal as it gets.

Bullet to the Head, yesterday afternoon. Bog standard Stallone revenge romp with a few good action scenes and some nice casting choices. A solid 7.5/10 nacho/popcorn fodder flick for a lazy evening but not up to the standards of say, Man on Fire.

Se7en cause my fiancee had never seen it, she was only 5 when it was released though. It was nice that even though I've seen the film a bunch of times she had no idea who the killer was. Explained to her after it that's why his name didn't appear in the credits at the start, you'd know straight away!

    Man of Steel in 3D

Some of the action scenes were a little "messy" I thought. So much happening that it all just blurred.
    Really enjoyed it otherwise

I watched Olympus has fallen yesterday. Just thought id post it on here because i thought it was epic! Loads of action which is my sort of film, great choice of actors and it kept me interested all the way through! It reminded me of the first Die Hard one man against a small army of people but in the white house! Definitely worth a watch if you like action films!

    Despicable Me (on DVD)

The kids loved it, as did my wife and I. Very funny.

I think we have watched two different films then because I thought Olympus Has Fallen was pretty shocking! I mean how many times we had White House taken over by terrorists? Boring idea to make movie out of and its been done to death. Characters are so shallow and stereotypical that's beyond belief. Predictability - you can pretty much see what this movie is about and how it will end after first 15 minutes. List goes on and on. Definitely not recommended and you'd be better off spending your £5 on decent cans of larger!

I haven't seen it so I can't dispute either opinion, but I'm not aware of any movies based on the White House being taken over by terrorists. Could be amnesia or senile dementia setting in, of course. Can you name some?

White House Down - technically not involving "terrorist" but rather paramilitary group of some sort.
