The Wolverine. It was slow. Really slow. 2 hours 15 felt like a day. Not my usual type of film but what can you do.

Star Trek: Into Darkness. Such a disappointment after the first film of the reboot. It was like they were trying too hard :-/

The Lone Ranger 2013 - watched it out of boredom and was not what I was expecting - definitely recommend. 8.5/10.

Re: Your most recently watched movie/film?

    Company of Heroes.

Saw it on Lovefilm, and ordered it without really doing any research. Apparently it's based on the video game, but you'd never know. Standard WW2 soldiers pull off a daring raid against the odds. Vinnie Jones turns up half way through for no apparent reason. 6/10. Worth a watch if you're bored (and I was - up with the baby at 5am).

    Sharknado:

LOL. Just LOL. I saw this on LoveFilm too, and thought it has to be worth a watch. How they got ANYONE to do this is beyond me. It's SO bad. I'm actually having to watch it in parts just to absorb the lameness. 2/10

Watched Green Street Hooligans (while at a friend's house). Utter tripe with no redeeming features whatsoever. 0/10.

Saw Gravity in 3D last week. It was brilliant, a great example of 3D done right instead of the usual cash grab conversion.

I thought it had potential at the start but it quickly ended up very silly and the ending was just too stupid for words.

Seven Psychopaths, was expecting an action film but it was funny and quirky!

Re: Your most recently watched movie/film?

Mrs forced me to watch the first Hunger Games last night. It was alright but not great. I'd recommend reading the book first, or watch with someone who has like I did, since I had a lot of plot/background questions that aren't really covered in the film, and knowing the answers made some of the scenes make more sense.

Saw this last night in IMAX 3D and it's really really good, even my wife who HATES any kind of sci-fi or fantasy enjoyed it.

Story is strong with a broad appeal, the visuals are stunning, the 17 minute opening shot is epic, may feel a little showcasing on a smaller screen, but perfect for IMAX. The 3D is well implemented (a little forced for me at a couple of points - but i'm not a 3D fan), and the Sound - it does not get better than this, so good, so clever, and executed perfectly.

This is perfect cinema, it will not work anywhere near as well on DVD/Blu-Ray I don't care how good your home cinema setup is, if you want to see this go now and catch it at the cinema on the biggest screen you can.
