    Can't complain so far. I'm getting 6MB/sec solid from Usenet.

    Re: Your broadband speed - post here

    I can't put my finger on it but when I visit speed tests sites they show my speeds quite high (2-5mb).

    But when I stream stuff/ download I'm getting 1.5mb or less.

    Thats probably because sites often have download speeds capped.

    Definitely faster on the weekends.

    Why the difference? Speedtests recommendation - Dublin against Coventry - [IMG]
    http://www.speedtest.net/result/699228887.png[/IMG]
    and as Richy19 above suggested as a benchmark - Paris: . I pay for 20Mb/s.

    Nothing wrong with my virgin connection today, in fact its going a lot faster than usual and I've found out why ;

    [Edit]

    Just cleared all my cache folders and retried the tests in both Chrome and FF and got the following results ;

    thats because your speed is in Mb (megabits) and the download speed from website is shown in MB(megabytes), so what ever you get on speed test just divide by 8 and you get your speed in MB. A 10Mb connection should achieve 1.25MB/s

    and Lee, LOL?? Thats insane, maybe your a tester for the new 200mb? I wish i had that speed , if only i could afford it .

    edit: it could also be due to a glitch as Vm been down for like 12hours , intermittant across country and tv didnt even work!.

    Re: Your broadband speed - post here

    could well be. my modem was flashing as it disconnected for 10 mins about 15 minutes ago and when I reconnected, everything is on turbo mode and downloads are flying.

    I've ran various tests and it's flicking from 85-110 at the moment so it appears to be constant

    [EDIT]
    Just disconnected again and saw a virgin engineer at the cabinet outside. Just ran another test and lo and behold it's getting slightly faster
