    1. Take lid off case
    2. Hook up standard atx psu
    3. Up the voltage and OC further
    4. Put everything back as it was
    5. ???
    6. Profit!

On a more serious note what do people reckon the max safe 24/7 voltage is for a 5850 (as long as temps are fine). As I posted previously I'm running 875 core with 1.25v, kept getting gfx driver restarts with 1.2v and that clock. I see no point in OCing beyond what you'd use 24/7 so I'm not interested in safe 1 off voltages just for benching.

Meh! I can't be bothered ATM! TBH,840/1125 are the maximum everyday clockspeeds I will run the HD5850 at anyway. It was like with my HD3870 and HD4830 which I could have overclocked even more but I was more interested in what I could get at stock voltages.

Anyway, perhaps I am being more careful now as my other system has some issues with the motherboard. I would also have to hook up two different PSUs to the Shuttle as the motherboard has propriety power connectors which means a bit more effort!! Maybe when I get another system up and running I will revisit how far I can push my HD5850 1GB!!

    Edit!!

You can get free postage on orders over £24 and over from Scan:

as updating the chart is pain in the arse, il wait til the end of the day til you hit your limit with over clocking. So that i only need to re order everything once, as your in the position to climb another place.

Thought I'd join in: P9627, system on left, no overclock. As for bang for buck, I'd rather not know

    I've finished on 5478
anything over 825 on the core and 3d mark crashes on the physics test.

    Bang 4 buck

    I spent
    CPu 140
    Mobo 80
    Ram 60
    Gpu 200
so points per pound for me 11.4125

Re: hexus 3Dmark11 charts - who has got the fastest pc?

Well I reckon this'll put me bottom of the B4B pile:

    Mobo: £289.79 (04/09)
    RAM: £264.44 (04/09)
    CPU: £223.19 (02/11)
    GPU: £643.18 (02/11)

The last two were bought shortly before the price drops too. Hey ho!
My only concern is should I hide my true identity? A costume maybe?

The expensive board's forgivable for its age, and the CPU for its raw processing power, but £640 on two 570s, last month? How'd you managed to get ripped off?

I got them from Scan and their prices were reasonable at the time. Seeing as I'm gaming at 5760x1080 I didn't want to go for anything less than the 570s. I was happy to pay that at the time and I've no regrets. Just unfortunate timing that's all

My SD37P2 cost around £300 over 4 years ago and this comprises the cost of the case,PSU and the 975X based motherboard. The 4GB of DDR2 cost me around £50 in 2007. I bought my Q6600 in 2008 for £76 and my HD5850 1GB last week for £90.

In terms of value for money I don't think I have done too badly!!

the lump spend on shuttles is always hard to swallow, but you have done remarkably well on the extra bits

It'd be a hollow victory if you did, SLI is clearly non-functional in tattysnucs' score. The only reason he has the score he does is because of the CPU involved. 3dmark11 had issues with SLI at first release. I suspect if tattysnucs re-ran the test with a more up to date driver, he'd be seeing a score at least in the 8000s, probably higher.
