I'm surprised to be that high up TBH, especially when looking at Skulltrails score/config.
Driver and software update related perhaps as I'm not having 50MHz on the GPU makes that much difference?

for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.
oh juicy more scores
if you think both your cards running at x8 is bad. you havent seen my incredibad cf abilities
1st card x16
2nd card x2
edit: forgot to mention will update my post tommorow morning after good sleep

I only have one card and the 975X has PCI-E 1.0 slots.
Your second card is running at PCI-E 2.0 4X meaning you have has much bandwidth for your second card as my primary card.
Its mostly GPU limited; 50mhz on the GPU nets 109 point and 100mhz nets 15 points on a quad.
Using Catalyst 11.2 I got a score of 3200!
My HD5850 1GB has the GPU running at 765MHZ and the RAM at 1125MHZ.
Here are the details:

nope, its running at PCI-E v1 x4
which is equivalent to PCI-E v2 x2
the DMI link between the cpu and the PCH is a serious bottle neck in the P55 boards. So they limited the second x16 slot electronically to x4 v1 so that it doesnt remove all the bandwidth from the rest of the peripherals on the PCH like the keyboard, mouse hard drives etc. Although the second slot can cross fire, its not meant to be for cross fire at all. Its intended purpose is there for use by raid, network etc cards. They left it at x16 just to be on the safe side for x16 things to fit in. This is also another reason why this board physically cant do SLI, as both of the cards end up sitting on different controllers. The fact its capable of CF is actually lucky
More expensive boards like UD4 take the x16 lanes that are on the cpu and split them x8 x8. And as it currently stands thats the best you can get from cross firing on the i5. When i was building my i5 i still had my 5770gpu and i had no intention for multi gpu at all. Hence at the time i was happy with UD3.
also now that its easter time, and i had time to play with my gpus properly. I flashed them with asus bios which let me play with the voltages
7144
the clocks were 950 / 1100
i also tried both cards in a UD7 mobo with the rest of the system being identical and i gain 500 points, but thats not my pc and hence that cant go up on the board
Did you use the 11.4 beta?
Ahhh quite possibly then. I just assumed you had the 1GB cards.

Wow! That makes the P55 even more gimped than I thought it was already. The ga-p55-ud3 is around £100 too. I would how much Crossfire scaling is affected by the second slot running at PCI-E 2.0 2X?? An HD5870 takes a 25% performance hit with a PCI-E 2.0 2X slot so using an HD6850 1GB may actually help a bit TBH!
I upped the Q6600 to 2.67GHZ and tightened the memory timings and I got 3333:

With the HD5850 1GB fan at around 38% HWMonitor was indicating that the hottest core was at 56C during 3DMark. The most I have hit is around 2.95GHZ although temperatures were just under the maximum allowed after a few runs of IBT. The 975X chipset is not the greatest for overclocking a quad core - it was a bit before their time!
I upped the clockspeeds of my HD5850 to 800MHZ for the GPU and kept the RAM at 1125MHZ and my score increased to 3436:

It seems that when compared to a Core i5 750 at 3.8GHZ, a Q6600 at 2.67GHZ and a slower PCI-E slot gives nearly a 20% lower score.
