    What is Vcore?
It good when you look at it like that

vcore = the voltage to the cpu. When you leave it on auto in the bios, it adjusts itself as you up the fsb, so you can often end up with very high vcore that isnt needed, so if it suddenly rises, you can set it manually and keep testing, if it fails, either back off the fsb, or up the vcore a touch...you will find a happy medium somewhere. -DRAM RAS# Precharge = 4
    -DRAM RAS# Activate to Precharge = 12
    ..correct?

one thing i've noticed is that the P5B doesnt seem to tell me what the default values (like vcore/ram voltage etc) for my e4300 are, if anyone could tell me that would be appreciated.

i've noticed i can hit about 310fsb @ 1.425v fairly stable but cant POST at 334 (no monitor activity) which is my goal, any advice? i've set the RAM to 600mhz i think it was, when the fsb was increased its taken it to about 740iirc.
I have no idea really what the default of the e4300 is, I would have said around 1.3v (mybe 1.275v), but like you, I have the P5B, and it doesnt tell me

You need to enter your ram timings and voltages manually, that may be why you cant do 334.

So what's the next step for me now then? I've got a good speed which I'll test tonight by running some of the burn-in pieces of software.

    Do I just keep going?

    Did you grab orthos?

If you did, run it and leave it running overnight, if it fails, you need to either add some voltage, or back off the fsb.

If you want to, you can do a short, half hour test and then go higher on the fsb, but sometimes, orthos can fail a few hours in, so half an hour isnt really a good indicator of stability (in my opinion).

Did you enter the ram timings?

Nice one Clunk, thanks for all your help.

I'm going to stop short of water cooling but I'm so impressed with the new speed. It makes such a difference to Vista!

Oh and clunk, Any chance you could add a mini guide with those BIOS pics to help others to get a clue on what to do (me ) but im sure others would like to know instead of trawling through the 12 pages so far trying to piece together information.

it'd be great in a non frosties way...

Easiest overclock ever. 3.0ghz. Just stuck the numbers in and left everything else at auto. Will drop the voltage and up the FSB at the weekend when I have time to play
