    Re: World of Tanks

Got my 75mm on the M2 medium fully kitted; my crew is rubbish still but I got four kills and the win! So nice now I can kill traktors with one hit and damage anything (well only slightly) I come across.

The tank up from the BT-2 is not bad but I think needs upgrades; you're one tier up with not a huge improvement. I still want to be able to afford a camo cover and scopes.......

Been playing too much so my missus has banned me for tonight.

T6&T7 TDs are kinda harmless. PzJ4 is almost a joke and the Jagdpanther is as visible as that driving bunker called Maus. While the SU100 (very good guns for T6) and SU152 (152mm HE can oneshot Jagdpanthers) are much more dangerous, they are nothing compared to the ISU152/Object with it's BL10 or the Ferdiand's/Jagdtiger's 128mm guns.

Speaking of money, in my experience, T29/T32 can make insanely good money. Find a good spot to hide the hull and your enemies will wish they never drove into you (upto T8, after that the 105mm is not good enough to deal with Minimaus, IS4 and T-54).

The ones which have been killing me are the StuG III, Hetzer and JagdPz IV but I've only been in the BT-2, BT-7 and Panzerjäger I

    Re: World of Tanks

There's been a lot more higher tier tanks about tonight, been making my life hell

tring to take on heavies with a bt-7 is totally pointless, best I can do is target the tracks and temp immobilise it then run like heck.
But I'm normally dead before I get very far.

one thing I've discovered is that in the higher levels it's more tatical, if you just charge in you're dead.

Bushes are your friends, when you park in a bush it greatly reduces the distance before the enemy can see you.
Try not to run into trees, if a tree falls in the forest and there's no tank in sight, then lob a shell at it because a tank is hiding there.

Made 130k, need 170k for the A-20, then another 256k for the t-34, very tempted to say stuff it and go with the tank destroyer route instead.

EDIT: Tried a fourth email address and this time didn't use Gerrard (and variations of it) as my username, and went straight through!

lol looks like your name is band

    What name are you using?

ps I think it's worth spending the 250 gold a day on premium upgrade
esp if you play for a chunk of time per day, +50% xp and credits is a nice bonus

    Re: World of Tanks

Went with my Eve name: Daxtor.

Loving my BT-2! Tried the first German SPG and not finding it that great. Have yet to try a TD.

Do you have to pay for a premium account per day? Also, can you use gold for XP, or is it just credits?

    Re: World of Tanks

Gold can be converted into credits, free research points or used to send crew to tank school, ie bumping their skill level up to 100%

The BT-2 is fun, it's damb fast, being tier2 you never get put in with heavies or the higher tiers, the BT-7 is bad, it's basically the same tank, bit more armour, bit more hp, bit more speed, but the same guns and now you'll go into battles with far higher ranking tanks.
Also it's got a massively expensive research&cost radio which means it's very hard to complete the research to get elite status.

Took me a while to get it; you need to go into artillary mode. Shift or ctrl + right click on the map.

Long reload and targting is a pain.

    Re: World of Tanks

Now had a go with a TD and enjoying that the most in tandem with the BT-2. Do love sniping! The extra camo I think works as well. The main trouble is artillery as I do like to stand still for the precise aim. I'm even now trying to target certain parts. E.g, a light tank came storming across the field at me; took two shots but I got his tracks, making the final shot even more satisfying as he was stranded!

The only main suggestion I can think of would be to see what your radio range is, or even better, maybe through lines on the map, see who is linked up. Nothing more annoying than being in a light tank and not being sure if the targets you're lighting up are making there way through the team's radio.

Navyfield! I was trying to remember the name of that game to compare this with.

I think it's something I would play more on and off than continuously. The step between T2 and T3 jumps a bit, so can imagine it taking quite a while to level up. Of course, you could always pump real money into the game to boost it (I might put a fiver or tenner in at the start to jump start the process, but will hopefully leave it at that!).

The starting tanks are really poo when they're not upgraded! Hit a small incline with my tracktor, and it became "the little tank that could"! They're not too bad as you're only ever matched against other T1/T2 tanks, so you're not completely useless.

Just realised today that when people go out of radio range, their green blip on the minimap disappears. Would explain why I couldn't see who was capturing the enemy base during one game!

Make sure you're stationary before the other guy so you're more accurate. Try to line up your front against the other guys side/back. Never fight alone. The strating tanks get okay with upgrades; they'll never be stellar but are mobile at least.
