    Re: World of Tanks

Virtually all of the KIA members you saw there have Tier 10, some of them multiple (I have an an IS7 T54 and Panther 2), sat in their hangar, we could of rocked out in Tier 10s with fast scouts and Arti for the night, but we thought itd be funnier to crack on with some TD camp action

Good to see you guys on the KIA forum, apply in game to Join KIA in WOT so you'll be in the clan chat.

Things are gonna get very busy nearer release time

Thanks for the invite. Was a bit overwhelming 15 people on one channel.

Great tips though; saved my bacon a few times even if it was delaying the inevitable!

    Re: World of Tanks

Thanks to Ginger and Allen for a good couple of games last night. Was fun.

Spent some time getting teamspeak working correctly with my soundcards today, ready for the next group battle.

Also spent a couple of minutes getting the right eyefinity settings put into the game.

    Result :

Arty spotting just became a lot easier....

    Re: World of Tanks

That extra width for arty spotting looks a lot better!

Be playing with the Wespe. Bit of an odd one; half arty, half TD. Doesn't have the elevation of normal arty, so shallower obstacles can get in the way, but the range seems extreme (I think I've always been able to hit the other side of the map). More ammo as well which is good.

Also got the 7.5cm L/70 on my Panzer IV. Great gun, highly accurate, good peneration and good RoF. The turret is good as well with 120/60 armour.

Lol, I need to sort out the alignment but it wasn't helped by me knocking the right one one before the picture. All three do have the high adjustment on them.

and yes, the fish eye effect is a tad annoying but its surprising how quickly you get use to it. Its the same in nearly all the games out there as well that I have tried.

Wespe is good fun, yes it's got that annoying shallow angle, however it can also use HEAT rounds which are very nasty esp if you use them in direct line of sight, I've taken out a churchill heavy with one shot of the HEAT

After our game the other day I decided to try some german tanks and so far I like them. I'd gotten to level 4 on most Soviet branches and I won't have the time to level them any further before the beta ends. Just unlocked the Wespe so I am just about to give it a go

    Re: World of Tanks

Oh ps I ment the AP rounds not the HEAT (that's the stuff you buy with gold) my standard loadout is 30 HE and 8 AP just incase.
The big pain is of course you have to reload to change ammo and reloading on the wespe is slow.

Couple of points about the Wespe, it's shallow angle means it's more easily blocked by cover, however it's got a long range.
The rate of fire and speed to aim is slightly slower than most of the other tier 3 artillery.

I'm enjoying the T1 heavy tank now, it's still a brick, the first engine upgrade has done little for my top speed, but the acceleration is better.
Still loses massive amounts of speed when you turn, top speed is about 35kph start turning and the speed drops to about 15kph
The gun is ok, nothing amazing but not too shabby, not got the upgrade just yet, however it's not very different, bit higher rof, bit more damage, a bit more penetration.
However the thing that makes it decent is that while it looks like a brick, moves like a brick and handles like brick, it's also built like brick and can take hits and keep going.

Once you reached T29 and T32, you will have the best time in your life. The 105mm gun is utterly insane for T7.

    Re: World of Tanks

Got the second engine upgrade on the T1 the 900hp one and the tracks, moves quite well but like you said is ultimately a brick lol. Problem is the lack of firepower, the game normally stacks you against KVs and upwards which you just can't penetrate, even a TD hummel can take 6-7 rounds before you actually get one to hit.
