Like the Heron and the wee tank.
One from a walk yesterday morning doing the Fairfield horseshoe above Ambleside and Grasmere. Just ordered a set of ND Grads which should hopefully help with these type of pics.

I was going to say that usually Army Lynx's have skids but Navy ones have wheels.

It's an AH-64 Apache gunship, possibly the WAH-64 it's a little hard to tell them apart from a photo.
I knew it was an apache, but nothing more than that. It was somewhere south of Cambridge and I had the camera with me to take photos of something else. We heard it first and it popped up over a distant treeline and disappeared before I could change lenses (no, UWAs aren't any good for choppers). Then it flew by a bit closer a few minutes later.
