Been a little while - and glad to see the post is still buzzing, Brammers loving that chopper pic
And Bob showing us up as always.

This was pre processing, nd I really liked the expression and the slightly drab colours, made my cat look thoughtful and a little forlorn



Post processing (i'm still a proper n00b with levels) he's lost all the greyness that I kinda liked in the first place.

Syd, brammers has some lovely protraits there, but I think the whirlybird shots you're talking about might be mine Unless I'm wrong, in which case apologies...

And you really should consider smaller pics for the forum Nice as they are!

I give up - managed to shrink 1 image too small and one is still too big
I really don't seem to be having much luck with flippin photobucket.
Also looking at it on a 30" monitor its about the right size, so sorry for straining your eyes.

That Lynx is a cracking shot - why does that helicopter remind me of StavrosH insect shots.

No, I agree. Level manipulation is really meant to correct for the camera not being very intelligent. Adding contrast by compressing the dynamic range is well and good, but as you've seen, if the whitest thing in your photo is a grey, then you have to be careful not to turn it white

Original is much nicer, and giving the focus isn't spot on anyway keeping it at original sharpness gives it a dreamy quality instead.
