Yes, it can be cloned out but if you make it large enough you can make it a much more difficult job. A watermark barely even has to be visible, in fact the larger ones that you can barely see are far more effective than a little thing in the corner.
If it's not visible they'll not mind abusing the photo anyway. You still have copyright whether you watermark or not.

Or take two exposures metering for sky and subject and blend them in PS.

I'd always assumed sky wouldn't be a problem for even a 1/2 decent camera, seems I was wrong!

Went for a little wander after going to the Post Office, still figuring out the shutter speed slowly but I might be getting there! Wood pic is blown out I know but I kinda like it!

    Re: Photo-a-day

The wood stump would make a nice macro shot by itself purely for texture and contrast, the background and sky adds nothing to the scene.

    Re: Photo-a-day

That's pretty good, what did you use just the Sigma at 400?

I just had a quick stab outside but trying to get anything at 200 is frankly a waste of time.

    Re: Photo-a-day

It was just less than 400 to try and compensate for the softness at max length. I composed using Live view, even then I was at the far end of the focus ring. That's a fair old crop there as well.

Of course it will, but you need a lens of 200mm or greater to get anything other than a white blob.

    Re: Photo-a-day

Try and use the smallest aperture you can when shooting the moon, both excellent non telescope shots though.

Mine we done with a large 8" reflector or a 500m f5 scope.
    Cheers, David
