I tried one of those last year, got very hard after 3 or 4 months. Anyway, here are some macros of the ice on my car today.

Very nice!
I noticed this morning on my way to work that spider webs look particular good with ice crsystals on them. Unfortunately I don't have my camera with me to take any pictures.
Yes. It's called "Photo-a-day".
I would quite like a 365 thread for Bobster. It would keep them together instead of getting lost amongst everyone else's bits and bobs.
There aren't really enough photo threads in this section. Most of them are about equipment and everyone puts their photos in this thread. It's fair enough if people only have a couple of good photos every now and then, but I would be interested in seeing more themed/collection threads.
Ruggerbugger - you've caught those well. Some interesting crystals there. What sort of size were they?
3 or 4 mm at most. I'm still using a Raynox 250 from my old setup, bugger all DoF, but nice shots when you nail em
Only useful when there's someone to use it...
Don't burn your fingers.
I always thought the high ISO on my 50D was not great. It seems to lose detail and look soft, as well as full of noise. Most of the photos from today were at ISO 1000 and above and they actually look fine unless I zoom right in.
New Year's Resolution - stop pixel peeping.

nearly made this my day 5

It was very dark in there and I almost never use flash so I was using settings I'm used to. It's a cloudy day, the decor is black carbon and the only light was from a few skylight holes. I'd quite like to get a 430ex (or II) but every time I think of buying more photography equipment I feel like an "all the gear, no idea" kind of person.
The important thing today was getting photos of machinery to see if it could possibly be salvageable. There were 18" wide steel roof beams that were buckled and collapsed from the heat. It's weird to be inside a completely burnt building.
I know that feeling. I'm trying to buy a house now, so I have to curb my "shiny, shiny" lust
I love your photos YorkieBen - especially the first one - it feels quite dramatic.
You may like tehse ones i hope!
#3 is good, it's a bit hard to work out what's going on in the first two, if that makes sense.
Here's one I took in Cock Robin Wood today. This is a local dogging spot!
I've been following Photo-a-day for a while now and thought it was about time I posted some myself. Comments and advice are welcome but please go easy as I'm a newbie...!!! Thanks.
This photo was taken at Australia Zoo last November:
This Cockatoo was taken in Sydney Botanical Gardens also last November:
....and it would be rude not to include a recent snow photo!!
Ruggerbugger - I really love your photo. I always turn my snow scenes to B&W as I can never get the colour quite right!
Cool thanks!
what about this one?
