The colours not very good at the gig Allan?

So. The Swiss and Norwegians were over this week for a special forces exercise on Salisbury Plain. Weather was rocking today so spent it trying to find them

Because they have blue and red lights there it looks fine at the venue but then pictures just become saturated with purple, this shot https://flic.kr/p/CvL9oY and https://flic.kr/p/DkffCS is with the purple and magenta heavily desaturated. I need to try other venues. Next on my list is Richmond Park, Chinese New Year parade and waterfall photography altho very few waterfalls around London. Got my Riat 2016 tickets soughted, although I still need to work on my panning. I havent figured out how you get everything nicely sharp in focus, most of the time i get the focal point sharp and the other end of the subject blurred. I am going to take a tripod with a ball head this time to RIAT which should help with panning.

If it's a small venue, maybe worth talking to the owner/lighting guy?

all depends on the direction the subject is moving with panning to whether or not you get a blurred back.. the back of the first Puma is blurred because the cab was pitching down to gain speed, but I don't think it detracts from the image.

Kodak Colour Plus 200 cheap film but expensive to scan and develop! Worst part of editing film photos is manually adjusting lens correction.

It looks like the weight is fully taken by his right hand on the grip, so left hand is just resting around the zoom or focus ring, is that so bad?

    Re: Photo-a-day

The Tamron lens does have vibration control so he gets away with supporting the camera with one hand. Regardless of where you have your right hand your left hand should support the lens. if i did that with my photo of this cake shop the photo would have just been a blurry mess as I used a very low shutter speed.

right, so you put the weight of your hand on the lens, so now your right arm is doing more work.. smart or wrong?

if you cup the lens and support it with your left hand, you are now a more stable platform?

Of course, but he wasn't taking a photo right? I guess you should always be prepared in case you're surprised by a good chance.

Sure, but i'm 100% sure when he raised his camera to his eye, the hand would have stayed in the same position on the lens!
