Got my wife's machine on-line last night. The Asus CPU fan makes a right din, so I'll probably water cool it long term, pending picking up a D5 pump cheap. At the moment it's running the SMP client (on all 8 threads) at 3.22Ghz @ 1.25v VCore, reaching 58-61C depending on the core. Plenty of room for more overclocking me thinks.

The P6T board is a bit dodgy. Only 2 of the memory slots appear to be working. Probably a cpu pin issue, but she wont need any more than the 4GB that I've stuck in it, so I'm going to stick with it. It's meant I finally managed to clear one case out my room (Antec 902) and use my spare PSU so all I've got to do now is sell on the old rig to fund my expensive folding habit.

Well done everyone - 5277376 in November! We've not done those sorts of figures since June when Raven downed his tools, so a great effort from all involved.

I've got 4 pieces of coursework due in the next two weeks and haven't been doing much but work. Also money has dried up so my plans of a dedicated folder have been shelved. But on the bright side, since I'm not playing Skyrim 8 hours a day my gaming rig is folding 24/7.

I've been working on this today - it might be a folding client again by feb/march time as its going to be emptied of VM's in the new year.

i'm away from UK and rigs, popped in a 69 point WU from my laptop just to appear in the rankings

Shame I don;t have access to the host, only the clients. I'd love to get this bad boy working for team Hexus, alas I value my job....

Anyone got any ideas how we can drive our points up - I haven't got any more machines available. I'm going to watercool the wife's i7 950 rig so that I can get that up past 4Ghz. It's at 3.22Ghz at the moment, but the CPU fan makes a dreadful racket keeping it tepid, so i'm going to cool her down a bit more, and silence the rig with some of the spare kit I've got sitting around.

Yeah, the host I posted is in the process of being upgraded hence the Jan dates. No way would I risk running folding on the current 3 'large' servers. 3 x 3.0ghz 64 cores, would be nice and some good point producers as well.

The new 80 core servers look interesting as well.

Indeed they do - I've been reading that folding maxes out at 80 threads, and that it doesn't appear to use the remaining cores/threads to good effect.

Crikey, you've got that card working hard for stock volts.

Mine looks to be wobbling a bit, but so far no NAN's. Going to take the dog out for a walk and leave the rig working for a couple of hours to see if all is well.

At the default voltage, 785 was as far as I could go for folding - it would fail. As I'm under water, and I know that the VRM's on the 480's are pretty solid, I'm not too unhappy with that. I can bench up to 840, but that's not stable for long term use.

Seems to be rock solid no Nan's, and the power usage hasn't increased very much at all, though I am running it at fractionally lower volts than stock.

Bad example of a 950 or just a dodgy fan? Mine was still inaudible on air at 4ghz as it didn't require much voltage at all - day to day I run an undervolt and manage 3.7ghz.

Mine's just using a rubbish Asus cooler - it's the only in-tact Socket 1366 cooler I've got, and it whines something rubbish.

I found a D5 pump for £20 delivered on the Bit-tech forums, so I bought that. Now I've all the bits for a basic loop. That's a better use of the bits I have left over, rather than purchasing another air cooler.

The Vid on the CPU seems to be 1.25v. Not sure if that's high or not.

Actually, I might take a break from folding for a bit - I found a new use for bitcoins, so might get back to mining a bit.

I know I'm not using my GPU for folding, but I can't put the expenses of both my CPU and GPU on my family.

Nothing's settled yet, though I'll finish my current unit first.
