oh, I've just found an old copy of my stats spreadsheet, so I'm going to use that rather than put off doing it till the server (with the master copy on) is rebuilt.... Lost track of why the ^long update^...

got bored at home and updated my computer lighting...
Led monitor backlighting......
I took FRiday off work (Lieu day that was owing) and finished remodelling my server.
I am now the proud owner of a P8Z68-V Pro board running 44x103 = 4533 (reported). I've the GTX 295 folding away nicely on both cores and I'm using the inbuilt GPU package for the actual screen so that I don't experience any lag while the machine folds. The Rocket Raid 2680 raid 5 array moved over no probs also.
Now in my HAF932 I've got 4 2.120 Swiftech slimline rads, with 2.120 fans mounted in push. I've mounted 2 sets on the roof (exterally using a radiator mount), which cool the water entering the CPU, then after the CPU it goes to a 3rd 2.120 mounted via a radbox to cool prior to going to the GPU(s). After the GPU's it goes to the last 2.120 rad then bach to the res. The layout incorporates 2 DDC pumps in series in case one fails, and a drive bay res.
Incidentally, this maachine is nicknamed PUDDLES after the amount of water it shed during leak testing. Ends up that the rads I mounted on the roof only seem to seal against certain fittings. I've put some PTFE tape on the threads of the fittings I could find to seal just to make sure, and I've tightened everything up to setting 11 to make doubly sure. I really did have my heart in my mouth when I finally powered it up as so much distrilled water had leaked onto the board and GPU I wqas convinced SOMETHING would still have some water on it SOMEWHERE.... so far.... 24 hours on no signs which is somewhat reassuring.
TEmps are in the high 60's on the CPU, and stable at 51 on the GPU's when folding, so I think I can call it a day and get on with something else now. I'll put some pics up in the readers rigs section - It's no thing of beauty because of the number of rads, but as it just sits in the corner working it's bits off 24/7 and media serving and.... and.... and.... well, that matters not to me. I Might make a shroud for the top if I end up with some time on my hands, but I intend to leave it as it is...... I think I've had enough for now to be honest. I just want to get this folding and start closing the gap on 1stRaven now...

Terbinator (10-09-2011)
I'm working over in Italy this week, so after a long hard think, I've decided that I'm going to power down my two main rigs tomorrow morning before I leave.
....I dont want to have the news that something's wrong and not be able to get in to fix it, and there's no way I'm giving out my admin password to my wife.... That's just asking for trouble!
My gaming rigs just submitted a bigadv unit, so I've cancelled the one it's just started - my server should be submitting one about 8am tomorrow, so I'll power that down as soon as that's done. I'm back on Thursday, so they'll be started back up on my return.
Keep the points rolling in boys.... Will be back into the fold soon enough....

Enjoy your trip!
...aaaaand guess who's back
Folding away nicely.
awww I want to fold again. Any idea what an i5 2410m would get?
Well I guess there's only really one way of finding out...
No idea, but good luck with it. I've only got a P9400 at work and that only gets me a couple hundred points every other day, plus it runs dead hot (Dell Latitude E4300) - I keep forgetting to by-pass the Proxy server, and the work units hang trying to send/receive without prompting me.... In the end I gave up doing it regularly because of the amount of faffing involved....

I couldn't bring myself to turn off all my computers from folding, so I left my media centre and the wife's computer folding away....

No leaks while I've been away, so the server "Puddles" was restarted this morning. Should see the points start to climb back up again from now...

what's with those 2million step WU, just coming back to folding and they're impossibly long on a dual core! even my 2600 workstation at work takes 36 hours to push one out. so annoying!
Scythe Mugen II Rev. B (not Mugen 3, because I've read it's louder) has arrived today Couldn't bring myself to spend 30% more for a Prolimatech Genesis and a couple of fans for something that would hardly be more effective for a Phenom II X4.
Will try to find the time to install it today and undervolt all the fans to 7V (1 Nexus 120 mm and 2 92 mm) - hopefully I'll be barely able to hear the PC when it's on
Have you got any details on the WU's? I mainly fold BIGADV's, which take 35mins @ 4.5Ghz per percentatage on my 2600K's, so 36 hours doesn't seem that heavy, on a dedicated folding rig. My wifes E8600 dual core rig and my media centre Q6600 fold non BIGADV's and they seem to take forever to get through each unit, but it's either have the rigs running doing nothing, or folding, so I leave them folding....

Crikey it's been quieter than the Trophy room at Villa park....
I've just checked the number of active users out there and we're still stable around the 21 mark - hopefully we can get that increasing a little folks?
We're on course to reach the 150million mark soon - 4.5M points away, while we're hitting 110k ppd, that makes that particular landmark about 40 days away. I guess looking for 200m by the end of the year would be little more than a pipe dream of a challenge to set ourselves - we'll have just passed 150M at the end of October, so I reckon we'll be about 160M at Xmas/New Year.
More worryingly we'll have dropped down the rankings another 3 places. We seem to be quite stable in that 120-125th place with the team members that we have committed to the cause, which considering our resources, I think is tremendous!
I'll start compiling this years stats as part of the pack at the end of the month and do some by user comparisons to see if we can't rally the troops a little.

*Still waiting for Bulldozer here* So that's like another 3 weeks?
My mums away for a week as well so I'll have the GTX480 churning a few out whilst she can't keep on eye on the meter.
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.
I'm down to 0 while some monitoring software is checking out server usage.......
No idea when I will be able to restart at the moment so thats my 10kppd gone.
