Yay! We ranked up to 116th in the team rankings! Shame that we'll climb one place in the next 3 weeks, but then drop down 3.... Back to 118 again...

We're down to 28 ACTIVE folders showing now on Extreme overclocking. Where's everyone going? We have 45 at one point....

I suspect we've lost some to uni holidays and some to the hot weather, plus a few to bitcoin mining. My Opteron's still plodding away though

Just been reading up on the F@H web site and found that they have links to other stats services:
http://stats.free-dc.org/stats.php?p...fah&team=69776
and
http://www.hardfolding.com/fh_stats/...101&tnum=69776
Nice that you can see the history a bit better than on the Extreme Over-clocking page, especially things like which dates when people achieved certain landmark scores. I'm going to include that in the update for the folder of the month thread I do each month as that's a nice thing to list, I feel, and incorporates EVERYONE not just those of us at the top of the list.
I'm still hell-bent on creating my own database with stats, and now I'm working toward my SQL certification, that'll be a nice project to work on - especially using Microsoft Reporting Services and SS Analysis services. Now all I need to do is find a way to set up a chronjob or whatever they're called to download the stats daily.
Jim - Any ideas? You seem to be a bit geeky when it comes to things like that? In the nicest possible way that is...
I'd like to download...
http://fah-web.stanford.edu/daily_user_summary.txt.bz2
once per day onto my machine, which is running windows 7. Any ideas how to automate that, or do I need a different OS?

You could knock up a program in VB (or whatever is your language of choice) to download the file when it is run, and use windows scheduler to run it once a day.
As it is for your own use no need to even make a gui, of course that depends on your programing experience, but I don't imagine it would be hard to do.

Would be a bit of a problem trying to do something like that in vba lol though vb isn't that hard to learn, as it is quite user friendly.
Just had a thought that may work, but then again may not. You could download another browser that you wouldn't use, set it's home page to the files location, and set it up via the scheduler to run once a day. Not sure what you could do about the confirm download dialog, but there may be some way to set up a macro.

I installed Ubuntu 11.04 in a Virtualbox VM to prove that I can do the units. Temps on the board went up too much so I then had to look at my water loop, and I ended up redoing most of it.
Now the loop is:
Res-> Swiftech DDC -> Phobya 1.120 -> Phobya 1.120 -> Swiftech GTZ -> Swiftech 2.120 -> BFG GTX 295 -> Swiftech DDC -> Swiftech 2.120 -> Res
That is:
2 pumps in series.
2xdouble width 120mm rads.
2x2.120 Rads
I've also got a 240Watt peltier water cooling unit to include, but I don't want to play with that until I'm certain that I've got the radiators working and coping with the load. Had to cut a few holes in the case, and also switch out my i7 980X for my i7 970 as the 980X is going on ebay or on the forums. Both clock about the same (4.4ghz) given adequate cooling, so there shouldn't be too much of a change to my PPD, certainly not to my detriment.
Hoping to get that rig back up and running by Wednesday, so at the moment I've got my gaming rig CPU folding at the moment...

lol, that sounds like a lot of work. Would be nice to get these bigbeta units working for me but I cant go that far. I'll just keep plodding along and let you catch me up instead
Just spotted, I made 16 million! Yay for me!

and I have hit the end.
Due to a change in staff, I am having to drop all folding from my servers as it wont just be me looking after them any more.
Its been fun, a challenge and 32 million points cant be bad.
I'll still be on here but now its time for Tatty to come and overtake me.

Thanks for the fish....
Nice one. Now stop that Bitcoin nonsense and get folding at home!

There are some things my friends tell me that make me wish I was working at their company, not that I would be allowed to fold on them like, but my friend just told me they have finalized the order for 2 HP DL980G7's.
To put that in perspective that it is an 8P system running at 2.26ghz for a total of 80 cores and 160 threads for each of the servers, 24mb L3 cache per processor, along with 256gb of ram per server, I was almost drooling over my laptop when he was telling me that, thinking of the ppd that it could achieve.
Still with the price of westmere-ex I wouldn't be surprised if they were costing his company somewhere close to 60-80k each outright, or one hell of a large lease payment per month, so not something I would consider buying for home use lol at least not yet
