I am happy to send the bios to anyone who wishes to try it. Just PM me with your email address.
The thing I have noticed with the board was that I could do a stable overclock to 2.8GHz with a e6400 with XP (32bit), I've just upgraded to 64bit Vista and I've been finding that what was stable with XP isn't stable with Vista.
Anybody else notice this?
Well i'm having an absolute nightmare with this release.
Booted with standard settings because any changes i make it either locks up or won't fire back up.
Just wondering if like me other people updated via Floppy Disk? and not windows?
lol always used a floppy drive to flash stuff!
anyways i'm back to 3.7G and will see how it goes.
When pressing delete to enter bios i am getting a flashing cursor top left, far too many times now and when i press reset and get back in i find all my settings have reset. pretty annoying.
TBH I don't seem to be getting as many problems as everyone else. With XP I seemed to have no problems, since I installed Vista nothing is stable about 2.8GHz
What are the changes in bios 13 beta from 12?
Any new features in 1.3 beta? Better OC? Or is it just as bad as 1.2?
Just done some playing around with 13, and, well...
I'm not entirely convinced that Abit didn't distract me with Flashmenu while a crack team of SAS gremlins crept into my computer case and replaced my mobo with a new revision!
Changes:
Cold boot isue = gone
Warm boot issue = gone
400FSB = 100% stable
1T = 100% stable
C1E = fully working, idle temps down!
And I don't have to power off and on again to get it to boot after changing FSB speed. Even if I do select an unbootable speed now, a long-ish press of the reset button always brings the board back to life. Needless to say, I am stunned. Whoever thought a BIOS update could make so much difference?!
Thanks Sean for sending me the BIOS and the Abit team for writing it! This is clearly a BIG step in the right direction. It might be called a beta, but it's clearly much closer to production quality than any of the previous 3 versions.

^ really?! maybe i can get my comp over 3GHz now
EDIT: and i was RIGHT!!! check it:
this is so cool. this is my first real venture into overclocking. my good ole' P4 3GHz wouldn't go over 3.3 without causing MAJOR problems. i think it even jacked up my OS at one time when i tried. needless to say, i never tried again. but then i heard about the overclockability of these bad boys, and i'm glad to say it's true! and CPU's only running at 34C idle!
i had to do it unlinked, as my first attempt caused a crash, since my trusty old memory won't OC past 667.
vcore 1.5
vdimm stock
vtt 1.28
nb 1.35
yall think the voltage is maybe a little high? should i go lower?
thanks Sean and ABIT! (and Intel, of course!)
