Fructal,
ChrisTV is an excellent piece of software which, in it's next version will have hardware support for the 550 Pro.

So far I got the best results with WindvdRecorder. One can capture to mpeg2 in many variations, but I couldn't get the Teletext and Scheduele recording running. I will try Chris TV. Thanks!
Well it look like nVidia going give Hauppauge & ATI run for it money

nVidia got smart and switch to ViXS

I want my PureTV!!!!!
$149? I paid ~$75 for my theatrix (which is the SAME card). And I did get a 'High quality tuner', 'special noise reduction circuit' and 'high quality at low bitrates'... weird.

The slide says “ATI TV Wonder Elite” and the Elite does indeed cost ~$149.99. Why the ATI TV Wonder Elite cost more then other Theater 550 Pro cards is anyone’s guess. Maybe it has something to do with the warranty period,…Originally Posted by hrlslcbr

Ok, the TV Wonder Elite does cost 149, but the other things (the noise reduction, good tuner and good quality) were completely fake. Just see the other pics showing 'comparisons' between the Nvidia and ATI cards, and you'll see what I mean. Just bull**** from nvidia...
If look on ATI web store Price $149 and Bestbuy Price $149 and etc, but the avg Price Range for an ATI WONDER ELITE is $134 to $149 but you fail to see what nVidia talk about is MSRP (Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price).
As for
'High Quality Tuner' This is about Analog Tuners not Silicon Tuners.
'Special Noise Reduction Circuit' There talk about the Filtering Enhancement Features, Speckle (analog) Noise Reduction and Image Edge Rectification which both ATI and Hauppauge don't have.
'High Quality at Low Bitrates' both ATI and Hauppauge fail with some MPEG Artifact.
Also ViXS chip can also dbl as Transcoding in REALtime so there one major plus which not enable on ATI 550 drivers and didn't say on there web weather not it support Transcoding.

Being an owner of an Nvidia graphics/video card I was excited to see that they finally made a tuner card... unfortunately.... the tuner card turned out to be... well... not so good.

ATI's answer, R520 + T550P combo AKA “Avivo”:

Perasonly all I graphics cards that use soft decoder are misleading any way and don't hold candle to Real Hardware Decoder.
ATI's answer that not a answer
I just wanted to report that audio volume is definitely louder ("normal") with the 6.14.10.102 driver released on September 9, 2005.

I would agree with that.Originally Posted by jonaslasky
