Actualy, it lacks a comb filter, a 12 bit chip, and many other things... I read some reviews and was not impressed!

- Compatibility : I read that its gonna work with 3 software, but I'd like to use it with beyondTV 3 or sageTV 2, as they are the most exciting TV software around (review on htpcnews.com). Any idea whether its gonna be supported? Alexis

If it has the same encoding chip as the e-Home Wonder, it should work with BTV now.

Does anyone know if the theater 550 will allow me to decode my Cable HDTV signals? I think the standard is known as QAM? I have comcast cable and am hoping to soon start using Media Center.

Yea, seems like they should have got cards launched at the same time Microsoft Media Center 2005 was launched. At least they should have hit the Christmas season, I guess they have a few more days before they miss that deadline. Looks like the marketing department particpated in wishfull thinking by predicting November...

rofl... I have sent several emails now (27 to be presise) to all of the add in makers! None have responded! I'm probaly considered spam by now...

Wow, I guess noone wants this card more then you!! It is pretty amazing that you did not get a single response. I am waiting for a card with this chip to arrive as well, I am sure there are plenty of others as well. I can not justify using a computer to drive my $3000 plasma with the existing tuner cards.

It'd be ace if they could do a full height PCI card with dual tuner. As it is it's just going to be a stunning piece of kit - 5% CPU usage for mpeg-2 encoding? Yes please.

I called Sapphire HQ and talked to someone there. They said that the Theatrix Theatre 550 Pro is shipping in Europe, but not in the US. They expect it the end of December or beginning of January.

Man, it is hard to wait.

I just got off the phone with GeCube...they said that ATI is the hold up getting them the chips. ATI told them they'd have the chips at the beginning of January, so the cards should be out at the end of January.
