The game wasn't too bad before these last two patches. Yes you had a lot of M60s whores, but they were easily to deal with.

But now with the lagging across all servers, massively increased hitboxes, and the random insane weapon changes (I refuse to use the word balance) it has gone straight down hill into the loving arms of 11yr old noob fest & CoD.

    Re: Battlefield Bad Company 2

DICE sold their soul to the console kids. For me, Battlefield series is dead and gone unfortunatly and Arma 2 for me has replaced Battlefield.

Arma 2 is what BF3 should be, Realistic, Huge, open sandbox world, limitless and mod free.

    Re: Battlefield Bad Company 2

While i agree with you the game feels poor somewhat - I don't think it should be any of the things you listed. None of the previous battlefield games had them so theres not even a precedent to suggest Dice should of moved that way. Also, hows the new expansion for Arma - if you've got it ?
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

I think it was just too many changes in one go. I'm getting used to it but I've changed my playstyle to suit. Another gripe: all my keybindings got reset! grrr
    My blog

    I used to play BF3, Battlefield BC2, BF4 and TF2

    Re: Battlefield Bad Company 2

came back back after a month of bein g away with work and i was pretty disappointed. Im gunna give it another bash today but every server i seemed to go on was full of nooby snipers and riddled with lag issues are the changes so bad that it has actually the coffin shut on this game? I couldnt get enough of it pre patches.

The resetting of the custom bindings was also a pain... i thought they had taken the grenades away all together for a while!

The only good thing about snipers is when you then sneak round behind them and knife them. I make it my mission to do so if one gets me.

BF2 was huge and open ended mate. it had a quarter of what arma 2 has and all dice had to do is make it bigger and realistic.

dont know what battlefield your refering to mate. had u not played bf2?

I've played them all, expansions included since 1942. I knew this would be the point you would raise and so i think my original response was fair. The open endedness(?) In any of the previous battlefield was no where near the scale of Arma 2, likewise the gameplay in BF has never been realistic [dolphin diving, jihad] apart from say the bullet drop which is more of a game mechanic than simulation. This is why i don't see how you can argue thats the way Dice should of took the series. You only have too look at the amount of Arma 2 players compared to BC2 players alone to know that a move to an Arma-esque game would alienate a lot of the fans.

Would I have liked BC2 to be more like BF2 but with the destructible environments ? Yes, of course in addition to a lot of other tweaks mainly to do with PC centric features (server control, game settings etc) but I don't believe as i set out originally or again, supported by some sort of precedent, BC2 should of been similar to Arma 2.

Think it depends on were you play as to what experience you have.
Someone left a note on a piece of cake in the fridge that said, "Do not eat!". I ate the cake and left a note saying, "Yuck, who the hell eats paper ?

read what i said, i said how bf2 was a quarter of what arma 2 is. Whats wrong with making the maps as big as arma 2? Plus how come Project reality was the best and most played mod on bf2 untill this day?

Project reality is very similar to arma 2 yet that somehow made a lot of players play and enjoy that mod so yes, going the arma 2 route would have been the way forward for battlefield. There are less kids on the pc's so a game like arma 2 is no problem for many of us who likes a challenge and a bit of learning curve

after all, battlefield's motto is large scale battle warfare right? so BC2 is smaller, less players, less classes right? ask any battlefield fan and they will most likely tell you BC2 is probably the worse BF game on the pc.

    Re: Battlefield Bad Company 2

BC2 was never supposed to be like BF2 in terms of scale. It was always a consoley arcade game - a game with a BF "feel" to it, but a bit like COD4. They built it because of the response to BC1 on the console, from PC users.

BF3 is the next game that should push the BF series on. When we'll see that, and whether it will be any good, who knows.

For me, the latest patch his improved the game, and made it more enjoyable. I've not seen any more snipers than there were before. Yes, I get killed more easily (it seems), but I can kill more easily too. This means that it is easier to reach the goal of the game, rather than just playing it as a glorified death-match (unless TDM is what you are playing of course).

And has been mentioned, smoke is a great tool for providing cover, and very underutilised.
