I played the demo/free version on my tablet briefly...but it was limited - I think I need to practice on the PC first.

have you put torches on the roofs of the houses? we where getting mobs spawning on the roofs in the first village until I stuck torches up.

The free version aka the creative version, doesn't have mobs a limited world size, nor tools or crafting.
It gives you an infinite number of any block and an empty world to build in.

The thrill of minecraft does where off, if you've got the mind set to play with redstone to create complex redstone machines and play with the fluid physics then you can sink a lot more time into it.
Or if you're a big role player and get involved with some of the modded servers and custom story maps.

Well using Optifine http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/...t-hd-textures/ and the Light Weight Java Game Library http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Tu...s/Update_LWJGL I'm getting 15-25fps outside and 20-30fps mining on my netbook

Can I please make a major request, I'm not going to be about much atm, so if you notice any damage to the mob trap, esp water pouring out of it, then can you please go up the ladder and patch the hole.

They are caused by endermen and break it slightly, although I just discovered the main mob drop bit had been torn up so mob where not dropping to their death but riding a water fall safely to the ground.


Falling damage is how it works, water channels inside it pull the mobs along until they fall to their death in the pit, you can then pick up the goodies they leave behind.
It's more reliable than drowning traps on muti-player, although you do have to beware of falling mobs, they can get a hit in on just before they hit the ground.

I might try to build a mob compression chamber once I can get my pc working again.

I believe they are changing Endermen so they don't pick up players placed blocks. If there is a mob I can find which will do this in the mean time, I will put it on the server.

Speaking of which, I need to upgrade the server soon, I think Bukkit is now running 1.8.1 or something... Been pre-occupied with my smouldering PC.

I had a really random few errors logging in today - first time I got stuck in the wall after going to bed last night before I logged off, then I died today and it said it couldn't find my bed to spawn from?!?

Back up now, sorry about that guys. We had a problem with one of our virtual hosts last night so I shut my personal VM down to free up resources for customers machines and I forgot to boot it up again once the issue was resolved.

And Stoo, building a glass pyramid? I still want a whole underwater base made from glass...
