Try the maidenhead server thats always given me good results, some servers give crap results which im guessing is because there overloaded a bit too much but the maidenhead ones seem to cope at any time of the day (generally). Tho if im wrong and they all should be max speed (doubtful) then nvm.
Mine with sky
Origin Broadband on the Digital Region Network
SKY, not great but cheap?
My results with Sky are pretty standard (13 MB/s down, 0.4 Mb/s up)
The problem I have with Sky is my ping is about 10ms higher than my previous provider (ADSL 24).
My results... Kinda slow but oh well... it's manageable.
11.75Mbps down, 0.87Mbps up
Not too bad for the north east, regular ADSL2+.

Not the greatest, but not too bad.
Pretty happy with BT Infinity. Only a little over a year ago I could only get 4mbps. Unfortunately can't get Virgin, but hopefully BT continue to try and compete with them and upgrade my maximum speed from 70-80mbps to 100+ mbps.

Perhaps. I just found it interesting I was given a speed bump...I thought it was weird I was downloading HL2 at 20MB/s, then ran speedtest and found I'd been bumped up. Quite possibly the thunderstorm here that knocked out power (and the internet connectivity) forced the ISP to reset things. If I run it again, I suspect I may have been put back on the right tier...Anyway, it shows what is in the realms of possibility once the UK gets FTTH. Just remember my line is shared with 10 other people in the apartment block too, so imagine what it would be like with less contention!
