want to change the firmware
You can download the firmware in your member centre, goto Be and O2 Broadband User Forum and you should be able to download a small cd iso (20Mb) containing the upgrade tool. Or just use your cd that came with your BeBox and upgrade with that.
thats the problem, i lost my cd

Only place I could upload it, much faster where I downloaded from.

what is the benefit of the uber gt?
Been with Bethere for about a year now, had no problems.
I used to have the full 24mb, but downgraded to 8mb which for 14 a month for unlimited broadband is a bargain.
Anyone considering moving to O2 just seems to be the same setup but charges less?
you can alter the snr and make it stick until a factory reset. altering the snr alters your speed. so you can speed up your sync rate or slow it down.
Nope, I need a static ip, fast path and I really like the low pings that come with fast path. Plus the upload speed is needed for 4 pc's on this connection. If you're a single user and don't need the extras then go for it.
I'm about to sign up with Bethere for the BePro package. Anyone willing to PM me a referral please
pm'd
edit - woops anther pm sent

never been more impressed by an ISP than i am with be, i connect at 1.2mb up 16mb down on average, never get disconnects and im only about 600-700m from the exchange (as the crow flys)
ive seen a few recommendations on improving connection speed/reliability in this thread but with so many pages to look through can anyone tell me the tricks and tweaks in reply to this so i dont have to hunt through the whole thread?
Cheers
Check the Be(Speed) member forum, post line stats and they're rather helpful and quick.
Simplest check for all the tips? If your BT master socket has a test socket, connect router directly to that and then to your PC, see what speeds you get - this way you remove all possible wiring/extension/sky box issues.
Out of interest, what modems are be* now sending out to there new users.
Its just that I noticed the over day the a friend who recently signed up to O2 got a 585v7 in BT home hub white - is this any good?
I previously had a 780, then tried a 585v6 which was more stable and since christmas and ex sky Netgear DG834GT with DG Team firmware. Although the netgear is vastly more stable, re-syncs every couple of days rather than hours it is connecting slower. - Though I do have a long line attenuation 51dB!
Thought it might be worth an upgrade, any views?
stick with the 834GT, your not going to get any better than that.

SO the 834GT is the best modem for be? the standard bebox is rubbish.
