The thing with newsgroups is that you dont have to worry about share ratios, You get maximum speed downloads all the time which means you get the stuff faster.

Also because of the nature of Newsgroups its almost impossible to track who downloads what.

If you're really after binary newsgroups, give Giganews a shot. They have a 100 day retention period too..

i saw an ad for be the other day, it had a free connection code of 'free' on, i dont know if the sales1 still works so might be useful.

Along with quidco of £55 and a referral of £18 - £14 its very cheap compared to normal adsl suppliers

    Whaaaa ?

18 quid a month and your complaining

Compared with tiscali et al they are a different ISP to be honest. Rang BE once and they were prompt, speedy and knew what I wanted straight away in regards to reverse name masking and what not

Wait for it....a miracle is about to occur. I admit i was wrong (never said that before )

The price isnt bad now......you are right........shame alot of places still cant get it.
Saying that...the more that can, the worse the service may become like every other ISP. Time will tell.

Cheers for all the info about Promo code and Quidco.

    Made the switch last week.

Moving from Zen. Despite Zens bloody good service, Be are enabled at my exchange and I am good at basic Maths to work out cost and downloads!
Plus, fed up of my Boss receiving my download limit exceeded warnings with Zen (ordered Zen through the company, as we are a platinum partner)

I cannot for the life of me get a Vista X64 box to connect to the BeBox, this is with two different network adapters I've tried. Anyone else have this problem?

never had a problem here. what do you mean connecting to it? connecting to it wirelessly? over ethernet? accessing the router page?
have you tried on other os's to connect to it?
what error do you get? ie it cannot assign you an ip address or it just doesnt connect?

The ringing you hear from the phone you are calling from is the ringing at the exchange. Try it again a bit later on, or contact BT to see what has happened

As per moogle's post, I've nebver encountered this on pro 32. I just installed it (dual boot with my XP install) and it's worked fine.
