Captured this little bugger with the 60mm Macro lens, which I've got on loan just now, with the 100mm macro.

Anyone like either of these two? They'll be best printed a lot bigger so the detail isn's so squashed and you can see the birds and cars etc - it's always squashing 40,000 pixels into less than 1000, but what do you think of the previews?

the first one looks better than the 2nd.. the 2nd's sky looks blown

I agree, the sky in the first pic is a much nicer colour.

I prefer the colours of the second one, but the cloud detail of the first. Map the tones of the second to the first and I think it'd be perfect for me.

the first one also has a nice amount of foreground which makes it more pleasing to look at imo..

Adam - for me the first one could ideally be slightly more exposed and the second one is too blown for me. The first one with a bit more exposure but with the crop of the second photo would be great imo

I really do like this one though



there is a lovely dream-like quality to the photo, a perfect example of where blown highlights work really well.

kalniel really nice photo, did you find you had to ramp up to a small appature to get the dof, or did you crop down?

It's not my photo it's brammers' which he posted a couple of pages ago!
