^ Lovely picture, but you couldn't resize it a bit could you old chap?

Just come back from a couple of day's camping in Wales. Took my tripod and got quite a few panoramas. I like this one, although the final pano is quite blurry up close from all the stretching during the stitch

    Re: Photo-a-day

Yorkie - why is your ISO so high? You're getting shutter speeds in the thousands/sec - that's going to freeze bullets let alone butterflies! The IQ has really suffered - sure it's fine for an ISO 1000 shot, but I want the rich colours, dynamic range and silky texture of an ISO 200 shot...

Also watch your DoF - bit thin maybe.

    Re: Photo-a-day

It's called not checking the iso settings after shooting indoors beforehand! Getting the dof right is something I find pretty tricky at the moment

    Re: Photo-a-day

I still find i often forget to check settings, not with the ISO since i fiddled with my settings and have that displayed in place of the estimated remaining (16gb cards, do i care about that?), but all to often the white balance i've left on something silly.

    Re: Photo-a-day

Thankfully I remember to check settings most of the time nowdays - I've done a few ISO 3200 days and 100 nights in the past though! A little tip is to keep an eye on your SS/Aperture combinations in the viewfinder - if you're getting 1/2000s then you can turn down the ISO/close the aperture - and that'll make you realise you're at ISO1000!

I'm back off to France now, but here's a final few from the desert - I've burnt them to CD, sent them to a friend and I'm done

Sorry if you've seen those before - and I'm definately looking hard at PC lenses now...

its a pity sonys dont display the ISO rating in the viewfinder, it would be useful

lovely pics brammers, 2 & 5 are the picks for me - with no 2, have you used to grad or is the A900's dynamic range that good?

1-3 are 3 or 4 shot HDRs, 2 stops between each. If you can't tell they're HDRs that's good in my book
