Nice girl and good shot Yes the sun was behind the horses as well, but the hood that came with the lens is pretty deep and did a good job, the main problem the sun gave was highlight fringing off that white rail. You can't see it in the web-resized pictures but it really pisses me off at 100% (Should be easy to correct, I just don't have a tool that does it easily).
do you work out on the rigs Merdat?
Bob how do you find the shots scale up to an A1 print detail wise?
Great bee shots Yorkie, no i'm retired just do some sailing on this thing
Funkstar, always seem to sail past the 'c' bit, next time that I go up there think that we'll try and go further north so as to get a few better shots of the main platform etc plus they have a couple of wind machines out there now -don't know how long these things will last out there in the winter storms although they have been there now for a couple of years I think.
I don't know why but I am in love with your last shot, the texture of the sea is fantastic!
Were they running? When I was Beatrice they were waiting for a gearbox overhaul.
I don't know when they were installed, but they were the biggest in the world when built. Quite experimental I think. At the moment, the platform takes all its power from onshore, the turbines are designed to replace that power need. Once the platform is de-comissioned they will feed power back to the mainland. There is also a plan to build up to 200 more in the same area.
Any good?
if its decent enough i may make a seperate thread to show loads more pics of my visit to paris
