Stress testing at 3.6Ghz and 1.4vcore now. Fingers crossed!
WU now won't budge from 49%
Hmm...
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.
lol
Prime 95 was still running
Yeah yeah, keep your hair on! I need to pick up about another £50's worth of bits and bobs, and probably won't have the money for that until February now, but we'll see how things look after christmas
The work machine is a quad core 45nm opteron @ 2.5GHz - it's basically the same as a 2.5GHz Phenom II. That's churning a fairly steady 4kppd, or at least was before I stopped folding on it today. This weekend I've also been GPU folding on Kali's single stock 8800GTX, which appears to also churn out around 4k ppd. I can't remember if I left the 8400GS folding too: if I did that churns about 500ppd (as nibbler correctly estimated).
Cheers mate. Lemsips beat off the the worst of the symptoms, but I still feel pretty grotty. Probably have another day off work tomorrow, then try to get in on Wednesday so I can tidy projects up before christmas...
I'm just setting up a few additional servers for the Christmas break. Got to keep Tatty off my ass lol.
Been doing some more reading and it looks like the cpu issues I am hitting is down to gaming at 1680x1050 on a single 22". Knock that up to 3 x22" monitors and the cpu seems to handle it better.
I did price up an I7 bundle today and it came to over £500 for a motherboard, ram, cooler and processor. that crap is expensive!
might be worth an upgrade to a quad core before then I think. Hopefully they'll drop in price some more too
DDY is selling his i7 setup which managed 30k ppd.
Tatty is as well...

Up at 3.72 GHz and 1.45vcore stable atm with 1600mhz cas7 Ram.
What/where do you study that is so time consuming?
Is that my nvidia 8400GS I see there?
Yeh, that's the 8400GS you sold me! I've taken the fan and tiny heat sink off and replaced it with something bigger that can run passively.
I'm doing Civil Engineering, Level 2 at the moment... Lots of coursework and exams for January
Ah, is this in London then?
That card will not die btw! It's just one of those components that soldiers on. Stock hsf was rather noisy though.
Bah! Just lost a WU on 92% whilst trying to sort out my memory issue!
