    EDIT:

Hmmm, when the row is highlighted the status shows green, but when I unhighlight the row the status shows yellow. The client's definitely running though: and fahmon shoul dhave access to all of its files. Perhaps I need to go back and rtfm
I think that it's not showing a PPD becasue the points production has varied too much over however many it's using to calcualte the estimate

I got that whenever I had just booted up or rebooted. I've moved over to HFM today, and I don't get that issue.

    Re: Folding Chit-Chat

    Hmmmmm.

A quick google has turned up reports of this problem previously. I'm getting "Unable to find a complete frame" messages, but this all seems to have been (allegedly, as far as I can google up) sorted out back in fahmon 2.1 back in 2007.

So for some reason fahmon isn't reading my completed frames from the log file. But I can view the log file in fahmon.

    Re: Folding Chit-Chat

It's great to see some new names in these threads. we're up to 37 active users now, which is a marked increase on the 12 when I started recording the stats a while back. As a team we're up to 140th now (we were at 141 when the article hit Hexus!) so we're on a toll at the moment! Next team overtake isn't for another 3.6 weeks at the current rate, so it'll be 2011 before we move further up the rankings.

PS. I'm up to 3rd... AGAIN no thanks to 1stRaven. How fleeting my last encounter with such dizzy heights was. I feel like Dr Claw out of Inspector Gadget when I say "i'll get you next time..... NEXT TIME"

    Go go gadget credit card....

Maybe tucking into the Port on a Sunday night isn;t such a good idea. Back off to wrap presents with Mrs. Tatty...

Is it reporting fine in the Bios? I've had this. I took it out, reseated it and all 12Gb came back. Dead odd....

    Re: Folding Chit-Chat

Apparently theres a 6.34 beta GPU3 client thats more efficient than the current one, however its like rocking poo trying to hunt it down. Google returns zilch results and the guy providing a link on the F@H forums got beat down :/

Afraid not, I'm folding 24/7 on a 2GHz C2D and 8800GT, and other bits here and there when I can.

Well folding on my new 6870's didn't go well so turned those off and the additional servers, while folding well over the weekend, reused to auto shutdown the task this morning so had to do it myself. A little annoying.

Just looking at getting a new cpu for my home machine. My £800 upgrade recently has left my E8400 struggling to keep up with 2 6870's in crossfire.

I'm surprised that it's struggling to keep up. You're at 3.6Ghz, and architecturally there wasn't much difference between a Q9650 and an i7 920 at their respective stock speeds if I recall, just the number of cores. It was when you overclock the 920 that it really came into it's own.

You really appear to be at a crossroads. I've been advised by someone in the know (who cannot tell due an NDA so they say..

"If you really want to spend a grand on getting yourself an excellent, and sustainable high clock, then wait til January and grab yourself an unlocked Sandy Bridge set up. I can't go into the figures because of the NDA, but I will say that you will see a better return on your investment by doing this as far as clock speed and overall grunt goes."

That'd be my best guess, but I've no idea why it would do that for me and nobody else, which apparently it isn't doing. (well, wasn't doing, I've not checked it since last night and am currently in bed feeling very much like death warmed up ). On the other hand, I'm not that fussed since I can (if I so desire) work out the ppd from it manually and I know for a fact that it's given me a nice point boost already.

I've now killed off the work machine for the holidays, and I'll shortly be shutting Kali down as well (she's just a bit too power hungry for 24/7 running, since I pay the leccy bill ), so my contribution's going to drop off a bit for a couple of weeks. Once we get into the new year I should be able to finish off Project Cunning Plan though, and then I'll have two 8800GTXs with much higher clocks to play with

Once we get into the new year I should be able to finish off Project Cunning Plan though, and then I'll have two 8800GTXs with much higher clocks to play with
Looking forward to seeing the worklogs updated. Hope you're feeling better soon.

Yeah, I think I will be waiting for sandy bridge anyway - mainly down to the cash I recently spent on the 6870's.

CPU basically maxes out when trying to play far cry 2 or mw2 (although MW2 will no longer load at all since I tried to get it to work in eyefinity..) so the plan for an upgrade tbh.

I was looking at upping the overclock since 3.6ghz is only hitting around 40 degrees under full load on a freezer 7 cooler. Case has plently of air flow so a high clock might be possible.
