Ahhh! What are these 1M units? I seem to have had a few in a row... I haven't seen them before and the PPD seems to be mediocre too

EDIT: P11020 for those who are interested...

I found these reported problems plus the launch announcement. Doesn't seem like it's a particularly problematic unit...

I've got FAHMon installed on my machine that I'm using (my gaming rigs having a long earned break for a while. I'm actually going to use it to..... play games.... once I get some time. Tenants have destroyed my wife's rental home, so we're having to go and visit the police to report the stolen items etc so we can claim on the insurance)

anyway, back to FAHmon, and it doesn't recognise the Core I'm using, but in any case my machine is processing Project 6900, so I've not seen that one on my server yet...

I have created a passkey and setup my clients again, for some odd reason my i7 picked up a small job and not a big one so it was only using 1 core. Killed that off and started a new job.
So all good now? Both SMP clients set up with the passkey? You'll see your PPD explode soon, then

Have just got two of these, at least they are much better than 2m work units, getting about 4:30 per frame on both my systems.

Nope, you have to fold 10 work units with a passkey to start getting bonus points. So that'll be a few days

SMP seriously needs smaller WUs, I've completed 65 WUs since I started using HFM.net, of those only 3 are completed SMP ones!!

Suppose the answer to that is "that is why the BIGADV units give such rewards...."

If you fold for a passworded username without providing a password, firstly will it even let you DL a WU? And secondly, do the points add on just the same?

    Re: Folding Chit-Chat

think the bonus scheme for SMP is really good, because for a while the points were ridiculously in favour of GPU's but now it's much more even. i think the amount of points available for bigadvs units are pretty outrageous, i think the extra bonus points you'd get from an 8+ core machine on the smp client should be sufficient

    just my 2 cents

I'm getting about 2:25 per frame at 4GHz, this works out at 12k PPD. I'd be getting 16k from 500k WUs

I'm on like my 4th in a row now... :/

    Re: Folding Chit-Chat

Went out for the evening, just came back to find the client crashed - lost 20% of a 500K'er and some additional folding time which I couldn't work out (lots of error windows, last one with an "buffer overflow" message, log is empty, there were some strange text, as in "mapping 4 out of 4" something). Now got a 2M one. Craps.

    Re: Folding Chit-Chat

in upgrading my main rig's client I accidentally deleted my logs.... now it's running SMP and standard core stuff.

Does this mean that it's going to have to do 10 units again to get me doing BIGADV?

    Doh!!!

    Re: Folding Chit-Chat

May as well play around with my overclock. Up to 4.41Ghz again. Found an article in this months CustomPC. They recommend using a CPU PLL voltage of 1.96v, which seems to have worked on my i7 970. I'll report back later.... got to do some plastering...
