Thanks for the warm welcome I've had as a folder for Team Hexus, it's been a busy half a month , look forward to helping out as much as possible next year too
Happy New Year to all!
Happy new year to all!
Following Nibblers Instructions, I have dialed into work and made sure all clients are folding correctly. One wasn't but a restart has fixed that.
Lets hope that 2011 can continue like December 2010 in terms of folding!

Happy New Year keep up the good work
Happy new year!
So yeah, first WU for Team Hexus is done! Currently I'm in a "respectable" 208th place in the team, predicted to climb to 149 in a month. Not much, but it's ok. For those interested, I used to fold for the Box-igami team, contributed 550k points over I don't know how many months. So yeah, I'm not a big folder, but hey, it doesn't hurt
Regards to nibbler: my unlocked Phenom used to get I believe 4000-5000PPD on 500k ones and around 4000PPD on 2M ones, IIRC. But check my system and you'll see that now I'm on an undervolted 965BE So that's around 20%+ that of my unlocked Phenom used to get.

Would you credit it.... The tim difference between you and the US based stats service has registered your stats in the closing few hours of 2010. You get to feature in the 2010 folders list!
Welcome aboard! Good to see another friendly face folding for the Hexus army...

Hi Terbi,
Just thought I'd feed back to you On an i7 Rig the number of ppd appears to be directly proportional to the overall speed of the processor, not the BCLK
My i7 980 at stock works out at 27k ppd. At a higher multi taking the speed directly to 4.17Ghz it was reporting 33k ppd
Overclocked PPD/Ghz = 33/4.17 = 7.91
Stock PPD/Ghz = 27/3.2= 8.44
if I overclock the Bclk to 200 from the stock 133 and clock at 4200 Ghz (21x multi) then I get a projected 35k ppd
A slight improvement, but this could be down to the work units that were being processed as these measurements were taken on different days. Certainly not enough of an improvement to make a solid recommendation.
If you think about it logically, I would expect the process to be primarilly Processor speed dependent as we are processing data. The BCLK speed would probably come into play when the processor is saturating the memory bus, hense the 200 BCLK scores higher at a similarly clocked low base clock system.
Let em know what you find. I guess this will vary by architecture as the bottleneck will move.

I've gone from #230 to #195 today, tried upping the shaders on my GTX260 from 1536 but think I'll leave it like that, don't want to strees it too much
Glad to have you aboard.
Cool. 10 Million. Only another 8 and a bit to catch Lowe!
My last purchase on 2010 arrived last night my i7 970.
Reviews around t'interweb were initially very poor about these, but those who have bought them have so far all been contrary, so it sounded like the review samples that did the rounds were a poor batch. I'm hoping this is so as I've just spent £500 on one from the States, and I'm "expecting" to get it up to 4.2Ghz folding on all 12 threads.
Got several new radiators and TEC's to fit into the case, so out with the old dremel... might actually photograph this build and post the project log as it's going to be an ongoing build.
My stepson was ill over Xmas - an abcess on his spine. Sounded REALLY painful - they kept him in the Royal for 5 days, and did the op under a general, so my server rebuild went the way of the pear. Managed to swap out the processor from an i7 920 @ 3.8 for my i7 980 @ 3.5Ghz, all at stock voltages. The 2.120 radiator on that box isn;t enough to cool the CPU and GTX 295 if the CPU's too heavily overclocked hense the project to migrate my server board to a different case (HAF 932) with a few more rads (double width phobia 1.120, then single width 1.140 then 2 single width x2.120 then back to the res. Should be enough to grow into as this was what was cooling my 980 @ 4.17ghz along with the chipset and dual 480's folding 24/7, and I've upgraded the fans since then!
Seems like Xmas has derailed all my build plans for the past few months. Even scheduled to miss the preferred deadline on the current BIGADV workunit due to downtime due to windows updates and failed overclocks due to inadequate cooling. Gone from 3 working computers down to barely 1! All this while 1stRavens running on his minimal kit too. There goes my chance to cathc me thinks

Oooh, that must have been gutting
I keep forgetting that GPU folding is set up to run at start up on the "office" computer at home: I keep starting the computer, wondering why it's responding so slowly, then remembering that I need to turn the folding client off: the 8400GS really isn't up to the job, even when overclocked
Up to 10th place, in the top 10,000 overall and just about to break the 1.5million mark. Nice
Nice one. Seem to be making steady progress there. Did you have 2 machines on over Xmas or was that just the result of leaving your main one on for longer?
It's nice to see so many folders highlighted in red. up to 31 active folder now which if memory serves, is about double what we had last May.
