    Re: fatal1ty fp-in9 sli

just to confirm, 8800GT runs nicely in the FP-IN9..

potentially looking forward to SLi in future.

here's an idea for abit for customer loyalty, why not offer existing ABit mobo owners the first batches of stock on Abit 8800Gt's/new gfx cards? i had to buy Asus to go in my abit...

    Re: fatal1ty fp-in9 sli

unfortunately abit pulled out of making gfx cards a few years ago.
I would love to see them get back in but it's a really cut throat business as most of them come out of the same few factories just rebadged & packaged differently.

    Re: fatal1ty fp-in9 sli

    Hi man,

You set 1.58v on the NB to reach FSB400? Seens too much for me... Do you have a FAN over your NB ? If not you should put one...

Anyway here i run FSB 400 with 1.43v on NB and 1.31v on CPU VTT... ROCK SOLID ! Anyway this is just what s_noopy say...

For sure worth a try, since you set the limit voltage for NB, 1.58v... Do you pretend to run 1.58v for daily use? It´s safe lol ?

    Regard´s

So I couldn't be bothered to read all the posts but read a bit from the last pages. Managed to get a stable overlock of 3.6Ghz on my E6600 with 1600Mhz fsb, 1.6 vcore, 1.58 NB voltage and 1.42 (i think) CPU VTT. I can't get any better results than that so if anyone knows how to beat that it would be greatly appreciated

    Re: fatal1ty fp-in9 sli

hi im running q6600 using bios 15

At 3ghz with nb 1.5v prime crashes it about 1hr(vtt & vcore auto),
if i change the vtt the pc does not boot past windows loading

Im trying 2.9gzh at nb 1.5,up time so far 70min

not running a fan on NB at moment would this cause the crash after 1hr?
should the board cope with a quad at 3ghz?

If anyone has good settings for their q6600, or q6600 experience i would love to hear

    thanks

Going to work soon but ill have to try bios 13 and 14 pity it takes so long to test or id do it now

    Re: fatal1ty fp-in9 sli

Well this board isn't that great for overclocking quads, mainly 'cos of the chipset, most people can't get it to 3GHz.
Mine is stuck at 2.7 and won't go higher no matter what I change.
But I've got an IP35-E on the way so 3.6 here I come!

    Talking Re: fatal1ty fp-in9 sli

It ran stable at 2.9ghz for 11hrs (again nb 1.5v - vcore & vtt auto)

Ill try 3 again fingers crossed.

Im raided up so changing boards would be a c**t loosing all info (not much on the 1T but enuff) plus its got sli if i need in the future.
(are nvidia raid all different controllers ?)
dunno if 680i's are any better but at twice the price they may be

    mmm i hope i get 3

    Re: fatal1ty fp-in9 sli

Oooh nice, and good luck on getting to 3

Not sure about the raid controller sorry

680i's can be good overclockers depending on the stepping, A1 and T1 are the same board with slightly different cables and stuff that comes with them, and those are cracking overclockers.

    Re: fatal1ty fp-in9 sli

I can do it in 6

This chipset wasn't made for overclocking.

Edit: after reading BUFF's post I changed it from board to chipset, this board is a good board, it's just the 650i chipset that holds it back for overclocking.

    Re: fatal1ty fp-in9 sli

a bit harsh as it can overclock reasonably but it certainly wasn't designed for extreme overclocking.
& 650i SLI in general isn't a great chipset - I've got the Asus & don't like it, the Gigabyte is suposed to be the best but no sooner had I posted a recommendation on another forum thread than a guy posted saying his was a POS - see a pattern?
