Re: Your broadband speed - post here

    Yep it's awful

Before was old school ADSL, on a good day I could just about push 2Mb/s!

Now a nice fibre connection in place.

I'm lucky if I get over 1MB/s, living on a hill in Wales. My upload is barely 40KB/s

Re: Your broadband speed - post here

    ok i win

and actualy i have a 200 Mb/s connection , but we share it on a router with 3 houses , that's around 12 to 15 connections , not counting wifi connections , wich will be at least also about 10

thanks Rob , i had to look around but figured out how to post it

    Dan-M420
what do you use because we have 200mbps speed cable , but i suspect the router is the reason why i get like 94mb/s and not more , we do have like 12-15 connections on the router and sitting at the end of it , it's possible i am somewhat slower. not to mention the multiple switches etc. inbetween the router and my computer.
We had some problems with the router last months and replaced it , but i still wonder why it's nothing near 200mb/s or at least 150 like yours

Re: Your broadband speed - post here

Just under 100 could also mean you're using 100Mbit Ethernet somewhere, rather than gigabit?

Re: Your broadband speed - post here

well it's not that i ain't happy with it , it's pretty good and stable connection , but we have the most expensive consumer connection , because we have to share it with more houses.
So i was wondering if i could improve it and it's more curiousity even tho it's not realy needed , i checked and it's indeed a 200MB/s connection.
Maybe you are right about the ether connection and should check if there are 100mbit devices instead of 1000 mbit devices , that may be indeed the problem
