Expensive way to recreate functions I already have I think.

I already have two spare WRT54GL sitting here. My line is crap, so I very much doubt I would get any real speed increases that can be noticed.

Theres the promotion code: SALES1
Apparently gives u free connection! A saving of £24. There's also a refer a friend scheme, where if your friend who is on be refers to you, both you and your friend get a month of broadband free.

I signed up for Be* the other month now, and was quoted 2-4 weeks until it would be finished. It was up and running in five days, which included a weekend. Their customer service is also outstanding.
Recently though I've been noticing the line is a little odd (strangely high latencies for no reason then fine again), so I'll be trying that DMT tool to see if I can lower the attenuation. There's a lot of errors though, anyone have any idea why?
over a 3 day uptime:
FEC Errors (Up/Down): 0 / 225,456,470 (?!)
CRC Errors (Up/Down): 5,744 / 3,238
HEC Errors (Up/Down): 2,756 / 1,574

Those errors are fine, it's normal. The FEC errors are because you're not on fastpath and that's probably why you get poor latency from time to time. You could try asking them to switch you to fastpath but if you experience the results of interleaving then your line probably isn't that stable.

Donny_John and others - hold on! - you can get £55 cashback if you sign up to Be via Quidco. (And if you don't know what Quidco is, it's a free and reliable cashback referral service and there's lots of talk about it on the Bargains and other forums, just search for it.)

I don't know if you can get money back from Quidco and the Refer a Friend offer, but I'd like to try! Any happy BE customers, please PM me your details and tell me where I have to put them to credit you as my referral...

RIGHT NOW! QUICK! I'M SIGNING UP THIS EVENING!

Eeeek - with all this active uptake now on Bethere I just hope Telefonica their parent company has the infrastructure and scalability to cope with the increase in demand.

If my download speed dips below 1.9 mbps I'll be coming to hunt you all down

Re: BeThere.co.uk - Wow

Don't you mean O2? They own Be now.

And there's talk of them releasing their own broadband package, it was meant to be at the start of the year but it has been delayed to October. Same as ever with these computing things, if you always for the next big new thing then you never end up with anything... but does anyone know what's likely to be coming from O2/Be?

To be honest, given the timing, I half-think the recent launch of Be Value might be it!
