Yes Bob a tad OOF, Im still trying to optimise settings for the ringflash, not sure what my aperture was, others were f20 ish. To be fair it was sat on a teasel blowing frantically in the wind

Yep, to me it looks like a smidgen of motion blur rather than focus problems. Not that noticeable from a distance either.

So, the sun shone and I ventured out once more after some serious estivation ... These taken at my usual haunt, Summer Leys, near Earls Barton Northants, Nikon D200, Tamron 90mm, plus my new Meike LED ring flash (and it does flash, not just on 100%)

ahh yes that annoying factor of blowing in the wind.. and it always happens to blow when you're trying to take a photo.. f/13 btw

It's not caused by PP, it's an optical illusion - the leaves are in the plane of focus but are darker than the out of focus background. Your eyes are fooled into thinking the darker leaves are further back than the lighter background, and it makes it look like you have cut outs.
