do you guys use handcent SMS? I do.. don't think i have that problem AFAIK.
Dunno about everybody else but I have stopped using task killer and I am noticing that the OS seems to manage its resources just fine without it and if anything it does seem to have increased the battery life (at least I think it has, hard to be objective).
HEXUS FOLDING TEAM It's EASY
(I have no personal experience of this, just some thoughts)
I can't help thinking that a lot of these kinds of utilities were great when Android was a lot less mature (back around 1.6 or even before) but as the OS is a lot more mature they are no longer required. However, because the pace of development has been so quick, people are still using these tools without realising they aren't really needed.
Please do expand on that. I found it pretty to use, but overall fairly useless. I did like the fact that I could lock my SMSs, so no one could read them without my unlock code.
Task killers are usless and in my very short experience, they rape your battery. Stay well away!
Four things it gives that I don't like to be without -
Quick reply - you get a popup when text, I can just type a reply and hit the button.
Colour trackball notifications - Flashes by trackball blue when I have a text (as opposed to standard white like other notifications)
Reminders - Set it to keep reminding me if I have an unread text. Very useful for me, as I often miss the initial vibration.
Group texts - very useful for organising my 5-a-side team
I realise maybe 2 of these will not apply to your Desire (sorry, I don't have an N1 thread, lol) but for me they are VERY useful.
My phone has updated this morning... still waiting for it to boot now but im pretty curious as to what the update is going to be
edit - well its not 2.2 (guess it was silly to expect that) its 2.1-update 1 according to the software info screen
edit 2 - i have lost a load of my widgets bookmarks, favourite contacts, picture album. Im well dissapointed!
Update on the dead pixel. As it is past the 28 day guarantee (even though i did notice it, I just didn't have time to take it in), they can't offer me a replacement in store.
Instead they have to send it off to HTC and it could take upto 28days.
