Hmmm, looks suspiciously simple to me
It's not too bad. Install it, delete the links it creates on your desktop. Create new link so that you can edit the "start in" etc bits. Copy for second gfx card. Add in logical operators -GPU0 and -GPU1 and fire them up.
If you have any probs by all means give us a shout. Took me a few goes, but that's because I don't read things. You're a lot more thorough than I am from reading through "Cunning Plan" etc
Am selling the GTX460 in classifieds and grabbing myself a GTX560 if possible, they seem to do 14k at stock! This could be an awesome upgrade, will let you know if I go for it

Yes. Your point being? It's a better graphics card and I want a better graphics card
I've installed the SMP client as well as my GPU one, downloaded the .exe & there isn't a control pnel with it (or does the fact I've already got a GPU one running mean I don't need it?)
Not sure if the SMP client is using SMP though as cores don't seem stressed, added -smp to the end of the shortcut but should I put that in the configuration screen (read above for my confusion on that) ?

I added up my pc expenditure last year, then tried to forgot the figure that I saw. It wasn't pretty.
On that note, my Perc 6/i Raid controller turned up today. Step one of phase three of the pc build.
Meh, it'll last me longer and will be more efficient, it's a decent upgrade from any perspective.
Well, installing the smp client has made my GPU client fail when loading, smp uninstalled. Have to reinstall the GPU one too
From my perspective a 560 isn't worth upgrading to, perhaps nVidia's or ATi's next midrange card, but not going from a 460 to a 560.

Don;t think that's very much of an upgrade. It's the newer chipset, but it's not THAT much better. You really would be better off waiting for a bit as the 560 is still at launch price, and performance wise it's only an updated(?) 460.
I'd say get another 460 (I'm toying with the idea but they're effectively EOL and the MSI isn't in stock anywhere :'( ) But you don't have a CFX/SLI board do you IIRC?

and I know you can get 20k out of one of those if you push it, 'cos I got 2 under water....
Can't pre-order unfortunately, and I'd be worried that I'd run out of power on my 525W unit and this CPU, and I'd rather stick to an overclocked GTX560.
Hmmm, heat and power draw aside that's a pretty good price. Wonder how much more juice than my 8800GTX that'd use..?
80W or more or so? an 8800GTX is 160Wtdp or so right? a 480 uses about 250W.
