    Using Bios M624B_11
As this is my first C2D and haven't experienced other boards i can't really say its a good or bad board, but since bios 11 i am happy enough.

Can anyone please advise as to whether 1.55v cpu set in bios is too dangerous to run 24-7 if it remains orthus stable?

thanks, i know i would like temps a little lower but i just wanted to see if it was possible to get 3.6 out of the chip/mobo ... may lower it for 24-7 usage though.
Orthus past 3hrs now and temps seem to be 55 - 59

Mayhaps after another hour or so try lowering vcore just a notch...my 6600 takes 1.5v to run at 3.6ghz...obviously they are all a little different but I'd still try and keep lowering it unless you've already gone through that exercise

I am quite astonished by the maximum overclock obtained by Shamino in his review on VRZone site : 475 Mhz for the FSB ! While all the users I see on Abit forums (this one, abit-USA, xtremesystems.org) reach 450 Mhz the best, and more often, around 400 Mhz. Unless people who attain such a high FSB do not encounter any problems and do not post on these forums accordingly.

    I would like to understand...

You and me both mate and he was using the original bios I believe.

I tried his settings and got it to post once but it didn't make it further than the boot screen. After that I had to reset the bios to get it to post again

Yes, you are right : what was his stability ?

Nevertheless, 475 Mhz is surprising since it seems that many users cannot even reach 400 Mhz.

Or maybe the ambient temperature was low which enabled to push the FSB further ?

i knwo the feeling i use bios 11 and can push my 6400 up to just about 3ghz stable but anything over seems to be a brickwall and i am not happy with it at 3ghz i have to put too much volts through my most stable speed is 2.7ghz

my abit ab9 hit 3.2 with this cpu at 1.3v nb etc at stock
this thing only judt goes 3ghz at 1.375v
