Quick question, I have seen that people have been able to get Intervideo's WinPVR to work. I downloaded and have been seeing video when I am using it as a TV Tuner, but I do not have any audio, I have set the Audio Input to the ATI card instead of my sound card, but I still dont have any sound. Can anybody help me with this please?

Unhappy 65 British Pounds = 121.420 US Dollars

As of 3/24/2005, the international currency exchange rate is as stated in the title of this thread.
I'm afraid that $121 US is a pretty steep extra expense for me to have to pay just so I can get my new card to achieve basic functionality.

I'm just your average lower middle class working guy who wants the functionality advertised for the price I paid originally ($79 + S/H from Newegg). That's almost double the price of the card just to have software which *Still* cannot perform the functions of which it was advertised to be capable.

As I've said before; MMC, or MCE, or Cyberlink, or SageTV, or whatever... it doesn't matter which software designer solves this problem, as long as one of them does. ATI advertised this card to be something it has fallen short of achieving, and it's customers should not need to shell out more of their hard earned cash to pay for ATI's mistake. Especially if it involves the purchase of an entire OS when you're perfectly happy with the one you've got (W2K). I'm not one to go throwing away my money every time the newest fashionplate comes out. W2K is a solid OS and I've no need to change it right now.

    -Erik.

Let mee speeeak sloooooowwwlly for yoooou. ERR, this is too painful. Look, does anyone on this thread really permit their kids to play with their computer PVR's? If you do, you shouldn't. So it all comes down to having a halfway intelligent spouse. I can't help you here. Either she can or she can't understand basic computer functions. If she can't, you are probably right to keep her. I am told an ex-wife is more expensive than MCE. However, if she can program a vcr, she should be smart enough to run something better than MiCE or Cyberlink.

Audio is recorded, but not played back in real time. Has to do with windvr expecting an analog loopback source, but 550 pro don't have one.

    Nvidia should pee on ATI

Nvidia should incorporate support for the 550 into their multimedia software,
that would be the ultimate slap in the face!

Has anyone tried these with XP SP1? I really don't want SP2.

Also, has anyone tried the new drivers with gbpvr? Perhaps they fix the audio issue.

Checked out virtualVCR with new driver, and filter properties shows up
under: Devices:video capture filter drop down box.

seems to give access to comb filters, noise reduction filter(sharpness),
    and audio volume!

you vets need to check this out yo

I don't recall this being available before.

Sorry I got this whole thing going again, please refrain from attacking each other! I'm not targeting just you spaceded, but satnav4 and everyone else.

The new drivers today may be the begining of the reparations for this card, though I still want better software to take advantage of the drivers.

There now a vol control in graphedit other then that I don't see any that has even been fix.
    1) Still does not allow fine bitrate control.
    2) Still generated error in GOP time code.
    3) Still no sharpness control.
