    Re: Elite : Dangerous

It will probably go up to 1mil when it finishes, which will probably be in 3-4 hours. I am currently in the top 5% with 692T. You could get into the top 90% fairly easily; I would estimate around 20T, maybe less as that's the most you can get at one time.

I returned earlier in the week from a big exploration trip that netted me 13mil and bumped me to Ranger, so I just did a quick adjustment to my Asp's loadout and started doing this a couple of days ago. I think I have done enough to keep in the top 5%.

    Re: Elite : Dangerous

    20T got me 90%, currently a 5M payout

In a small ship that can't do the "dump 20T, buy another 20T, collection limpet the first 20T and deliver 40T in a single go" trick that I have been reading about. Might have time for one more run before I have to go out for the evening though.

And all new players are going to get at least a Cobra!

Think it'll spoil it for them actually - you stick at Cobra for ages, and will be missing the sense of progression from the early ships.

So it has just finished; new players get a Viper MkIV. I got 100mil for finishing in the top 5%!

And you get 10mil for the top 90%.

I managed a second run, so that is 20M (on top of the 0.8M for shifting 40T). Not a bad hour's work

So has to be done cooperatively then. Perhaps we can get a Hexus team going. I have a trade 'conda to fill

Vulture wasn't so bad to buy, even class D it was pretty formidable. Bought one at the start of a combat CG, you can make an easy 1M per hour and just keep investing in upgrades as you go. If you aren't flying anywhere, you don't need a good frameshift drive so that comes last.

How does co-operative trading work? Does everyone in the wing get credited, regardless of who sells the goods?

Not that simple, so it involves some trust and possibly some "I don't really need the money". It works on the simple principle that the game has I think a 10 minute tick so every 10 mins you can load up 16T of fireworks and dump it outside where a Type 9 or Conda can scoop it up. So, each person buying can shift 96T per hour. If you have ten people doing this, then there are 960T per hour.

So the idea seems to be to buffer up a load of fireworks, then go ask for a hold full and scoop some back.

I saw someone offering people in "small ships such as an Asp" to come get free fireworks. Sounded like you are expected to invest time into the scheme to get a big ship filled.

Alternative seem so be to get 16T, wait 10 minutes outside the station in Solo, dump your 16T and go inside to buy another 16T, come out and collection drone the 16T you dropped earlier to get a load of 32T. Add a round trip (30 mins?) to get the rares to the other end, and you are shifting about 32T in 40 minutes or 48T per hour. That is a big of a faff for half the throughput of doing the co-operative method.

Loading up 16T and flying straight out there should be a bit better than half as fast again.

Co-operative should work well with fireworks given 16T really doesn't cost much so it isn't much of a faff to hand over a few tens of thousands in fireworks to a holding ship. More down to the time invested really, but then few of the CGs are cost effective compared to just jumping in a class 9 or bigger and trucking stuff around at 1K profit per tonne.

For CGs like the "build us a new space station" where it matters for the long term game more than for personal profit, it seems a really good idea.

Discussion I was reading seemed to be around this post...

    https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showth...=1#post3346530

Still doing the combat CG atm in Dahan as part of my grind up to Elite combat rating atm, but will take a look at the fireworks later.

Sorry, didn't notice this post, was too busy sprinting to the finish of the Dahan mission

I was in Bolg, there is a "compromised navigation beacon" there. Frankly, even with the cg event over you could go have a play as the CG didn't pay out much compared to the bounties I got over the last few days. Probably made 30M on bounties, got me a 5M payout from the cg.

    Re: Elite : Dangerous

With bounty hunting you've got a couple of options. You can either sit in super cruise and look for wanted ships, interdict and destroy. Or, look for a gas giant in the system that has a rocky ring. Once you get within 1000LS of it, you'll probably see a Resource Extraction Site appear. Drop in there and you'll see miners working away, and more than a few pirates helping relieve the miners of their hard work. Be careful, system security ships will probably be around, make sure you don't hit one of those by accident. Gets a little messy if you do There's different 'levels' of RES too. Hazardous RES is the biggest risk - no security and pirates in decent ships and wings. High Res is similar but with less wings and security ships are in attendance.

You can also have a look around the Nav Beacons. Sometimes you'll come across a few wanted there - if you find a compromised Nav Beacon then there's lots to shoot at - bit like a Haz Res. Enjoy

    Re: Elite : Dangerous

Thanks. Tried a compromised nav beacon at the time and was terrified by all the big nasty ships Was a bit worried that if I went after one, all the others in the same faction would come after me.

So then I tried interdiction, which worked fine.

Then I tried a RES, which was OK until a wing of anaconda + two clippers decided I looked tasty

You can also now respond to "Distress Call" signal sources, which gives you wings of pirates to attack. Good for medium capability ships like Viper upto Vulture.
