Have a play with the presets Sleepyhead (lots of free ones out there as well) Some can make a good starting point for your pp.

100% or heavy crops?

Have a play with the presets Sleepyhead (lots of free ones out there as well) Some can make a good starting point for your pp.

So I played with a black and white preset today with hi-contrast blue settings.

Enough megapixels for a reasonable size print. There is cropping involved but there is only so much a 400MM lens and an aircraft flightplan over the sea can do!!

Still a 500mm and a higher MP body would be useful.

Pfft, try a lowly 135mm! I'll try and remember to get my attempts up this evening.

Looks good cat. Quite soft which is probably where the crop comments come in, as it could be the AA filter, however it looks like there's a lot of detail there so some careful sharpening in PP would probably cure that.

One of the issues is the shutter speed,which is not very high(in an attempt to blur the props),which has meant some of the pictures are not 100% as tack sharp as I wanted them to be. I really need to improve my panning skills!

Pfft, try a lowly 135mm! I'll try and remember to get my attempts up this evening.
