I was speaking to a bloke who works at Quantel (guys who pretty much invented digital video as we know it) the other day and he was saying nearly all the staff there has one. As soon as one of them find a cool app, it spreads like a disease
It's a bit more risky though as you might need to rely of xda-devs to keep the latest OS as I have read that Samsung aren't good for updates... especially with the Galaxy S2 coming in probably less than a year.
Word is the Galaxy S2 will pack a 1280x720, 4.3-inch super AMOLED screen, matching Google’s mooted requirements for Android Gingerbread blowers. There’s said to be an eye-wateringly fast 2Ghz processor, with 1GB of RAM, as well as 32GB of storage too.Word is the Galaxy S2 will pack a 1280x720, 4.3-inch super AMOLED screen, matching Google’s mooted requirements for Android Gingerbread blowers. I've not exactly got the biggest hands in the world but I think something like 3.7-3.8" screens are big enough no? The HD2 for example is totally overkill, not sure I would want a 4.3" screen but it seems that the spec wars are concentrating quite a bit on that? I'd prefer higher res myself...iPhone 4 has got 1 thing going for it there
As long as it fits in the pocket, the bigger the screen the better. Although higher resolution is better, the marginal gain diminishes fast with tiny screen sizes. The iphone 4 screen would have been many times more impressive if it was 4", people would be thinking of it as a huge step from 800x480, rather than, "meh, it's clearer but no big deal".

My friend is over from Norway next week and wants to get a HTC Desire (off contract) while hes here, any ideas where he can get one from a store in London? i take it most the "usual places" all sell "on contract"?
Or Gumtree. There seem to be quite a few in London for £300 ono.
I've only just noticed that a long hold in the browser lets you search Wikipedia! Also allows pasting into an email or text but won't use the gmail app for email and I don't have an exchange or pop3 setup !
anyone recommend a good browser for the desire?
and looking for a good music player as well?
many thanks
