What are the two memory widgets either side of the time in screen 3? They look smart.
Anyone tried the Desire HD rom?
SD Card Storage Widget & Internal Phone Storage Widget
Nope, and don't intend to either. Not until there is a flashable ZIP file anyway.

I am on T-mobile, been away on holiday for a week with no roaming going. Should I install this update or not?

Update finished after having to restart a few times because it checks the spare phone space AFTER the installation starts (you need 25mb free in the application space).
It is Android 2.2 and it appears to be english
Extra apps installed
App Sharing
Flashlight
Mobilbox Pro (only works with mobilebox tariff... so pointless to me)
News and Weather
TopApps ("t-mobile recommendations" .....)
Videos
Wi-Fi Hotspot
Erm, My T-mobile is an unbranded one and I was already on 2.2.
I have got a 25mb update which says its from HTC and has
*Android Os update patch
*Enhanced multi gmail support
*Improved RUS keyboard layout
Anybody else had this one?

Question: How many hours are you getting out of the battery? I have been using the phone since about 17:30 yesterday and its already down to about 40% battery remaining, is this normal?
Just shocked at how fast the battery has dropped :s
That's not that bad really. Get used to it, the battery life on the Desire is its Achilles Heel. You can turn absolutely everything off including mobile data and you'll get more battery life out of it, but once you do that it stops being a 'smart' phone and you might aswell have bought a second hand nokia 3310. I keep mine on USB charge at work and full charge over night but if I'm out and about for a day I can expect it to be dead by tea time.
If you're not using it though, turn it off - it only takes a second with the widgets and it really helps battery life.
This is the case with all smartphones though. People seem to think that the Desires battery is really bad coming from a none smartphone, and it that sense they are right. If you compare it to other smartphones though, it's not as bad as you think
True. However, my iPhone 3G battery life was a hell of a lot better (Note: this should not be mistaken for a statement of brand affiliation/preference. The Desire, for me, is a far superior handset overall)

Yep same here.
I'd always heard "oh the iPhone battery life is crap blah blah" then I moved from an iPhone 3G (~ 2-3 days battery life) to my Desire (~ 1.5 days max meaning I HAVE to charge it every day)
This is underclocked to 800mhz, underclocked to 245 when screen off, undervolted, only two homescreen widgets, nothing auto updating except email (30mins) Screen usually around 30% or AUTO. ~45mins of music/podcasts per day, ~ 1hr browser usage usually on WiFi & the odd 30mins of video (maybe 1 episode every other day)
