Continuing the fly theme, here are some hoverflies from the allotment earlier. These were taken using the extension tubes.

Bosh! First one's a belter
Thanks, I kind-of like the effect that the camera blur gives the second one too - its incredible hard to keep steady when the lens protrudes a foot in front of the camera.
Might have to look into getting a ring flash at some point to allow me to keep my shutter speed higher as a normal flash can only do so much, although hopefully when I get my new camera body I'll be able to crank up the ISO a bit too without getting as much noise as I get on the 300d.
First one's great, third is a bit eye-watering to be honest, second would be excellent, but the blur ruins it, sorry.
From Farnborough:
It was a sunny evening so I went looking for deer again. There was only one and it ran off as another dog walker came along the path. I had been slowly trying to get closer to it bit by bit, but couldn't really get close enough to get a shot without cropping.
Cheeky sod!
The sunset was quite interesting.

On a lighter note, thought I'd catch some water lilies down the road at Burnby Hall while they're still out.
Interesting shot merdat....
But that's a brilliant photo rox; I imagine you could make a bit of money with that one.
