Re: The Official HTC Desire Thread

Unfortunately there is no Orange RUU so I could be up **** creek without a paddle.
Just put a WWE image on it & say it came like that, they can't prove otherwise and some early supply models did.

@400Singh - thanks for the reply on previous page.

I've sorted the voicemail thing - go to Settings, Call, and "Clear voicemail notification".

I ended up calling to hear it (twice, even though I knew it was nothing) & it still didn't go, so this is a plus.

You might also find Hullomail useful - download the app, follow the instructions. No more T-Mobile voicemail for me...

Re: The Official HTC Desire Thread

    Indeed.

If HTC aren't going to back port the Desire HD version of Sense to the regular Desire, then that may well be a reason for me to flash the ROM.

Re: The Official HTC Desire Thread

Got my refurbished handset bang on 18:00 hours today. First thing I did was root it Comes with crappy 2.1 with Orange bloatware installed. I'm gonna leave it as is for now, because I need to unlock it again (booo!) And Orange handsets network lock when you flash/update the radio.

Re: The Official HTC Desire Thread

DesireHD rom seems good, but probably not enough to tempt me away from OD...

I'm more excited about the Orange San Francisco at the moment because it's so cheap!

Re: The Official HTC Desire Thread

Since the update on T-Mob, the battery life seems to have halved - barely use the phone and doesn't last the day. Any ideas? Can't see that any settings have changed - eg still don't have Wi-Fi, GPS or Bluetooth switched on.

Re: The Official HTC Desire Thread

Well, I finally found someone to buy my Legend off me for about £205 and then picked up a second hand Desire on eBay for £260 (I have a v. contract that I would like to keep) and its meant to be a factory unlocked and unbranded handset and upgraded to froyo already. Hopefully its all good, but wow, like the look of the Desire HD rom, liking the car hud/panel. Need to read up about rooting, been a while since I dipped into this thread

But glad to get one at last. Just bought a car holder and some martin fields overlay plus protectors, so hopefully next week I can join in the banter (and more likely ask Qs!)

Re: The Official HTC Desire Thread

re S-OFF, there is now an initial public release here. A bit much for me to contemplate doing at the moment, but I can see the benefits. I believe that there is a new Unrevoked (Forever I believe its called, but I think that only works with CDMA Desires at the moment, and we have GSM?)

Still just info for those who might be interested.

Does anyone have experience with Shazam on HTC Desire? Does it work just as well?
How well does Shazam work on Deep House music selections? In other words: less mainstream music

Works fine with any type of music however I don't think they have much in the way of obscure in the catalog. I have tried a few times to identify tunes from Tongys essential selection and its failed, I would say the essential selection is really on the mainstream of house so I don't think its gonna do so well in some underground club.
