Is that an app that shows you your Orange account details, time and data left? I wonder if there's any way to get that on my N1?

Iv treated my phone to the official HTC pouch. Its rather nice, has a little tab to pull on which is connected to a piece of ribbon. The ribbon is sewed to the leather in such a way that when you pull it, it lifts out about 1/4 of the phone. This is especially useful as its a pretty snug fit. Very well made im chuffed to bits
Comes with an honest recommendation from me, happy to post up some pics if anyone wants?
ok I would have come back here and told you what I think about the desire but I've been too busy playing with it!
Things I like...
- The face I can run multiple email accounts without an issue - I have most of my POP3 stuff of my sites linked up and my even get an exchange one on there too if I can get a hold of the details
- The app store, although small is easy enough and good enough.
- It hooks up seamlessly with my wifi whereever I am (as long as the keys are in (my 5800 nokia used to ask each time..)
- nice customisable interface
- nice layout
- easy enough to drop files onto
- FAST! (can't wait for 2.2. to make it even quicker!!)
- Screen - gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous
Dislikes...
- The HTC facebook app adds all the contacts with all the phone numbers to the directory AUTOMATICALLY - if you turn off the sync you lose half the benefit of the Android platform so instead I had to switch to the Facebook standalone app - not as good as there is no photo link to names, but still, I honestly wish they could figure a way to do this better.
- Battery power sucks - apparently it does get better within a week or two so we will see - but I went to bed late sat and woke up early sunday - the phone had turned itself off! (suspect I need to get a background processor killer) - this may help especially - although I will also need to get some USB leads for the car and a couple of docks, one for home and one for the office...
Other than that VERY happy - only downside is o2 want over £300 off me this month lol
Please do not message me about Scan Free shipping, I no longer work for HEXUS.net
Ive heard about that - I just haven't got the chance to sort it out (mainly because I have to account for the time it takes me to do mine, then for the other half to turn round and go oooooh I want it on mine I want it on mine - so I have to do it on her's too).
Best wait till I get home to my Wifi and give it a go tonight I think

Il try and remember to put some up tonight
One of the main dislikes i have is once you ink a person with their facebook, it doesnt store their birthdays and stuff int he calander so you get reminders.
I managed to get my event calanders synched up ok so that the events on facebook appear on my google calander but there doesnt seem to be a way to do that with birthdays
Your Orange is very good, however it just gives you the info from the Orange site and as such is 48hrs delayed.
If you want more try NetSentry from the Android Market, that keeps a realtime track of your usage of both mobile and WiFi data usage with a scheduled reset (your bill date ?) and alerts for warning levels.
As for the battery, i'm using an app called Task Manager (free) from Rhythm Software, it runs in the background and auto-kills all running apps (other than your exceptions) when you lock the device. Also has a neat widget for a home screen showing the current free RAM and kills all open when you tap it Battery life has noticeably improved about a week after starting using this.
My problem with the Facebook link is that it pulled the photos to the contacts but now won't update them when the person changes their photo, even if you kill the link to the person and re-establish - Doh !
Don't get me wrong the iPhone serves it's purpose, both my parents have them and love it, they would NEVER have managed the Desire it would have been in the bin within a couple of days - just that extra level of complexity.
Although was using my mums iPhone at the weekend and was thinking, how do I turn the brightness up ? Really ? That's what they call bright ? He He

- It does indeed. However, mobile internet is the worst offender. I was in a meeting all day today, with mobile internet turned off, and my battery was still above 95%!
Meh, not too bothered about that. I am never going to use more than 500MB in a month anyway.
Yeah I wouldn't do that... http://android-developers.blogspot.c...droid-way.html & http://geekfor.me/faq/you-shouldnt-b...-with-android/
It would probably do even better if you remove the widget. It's 'active' widgets that can drain your battery. Those and processes running in the back ground, like have been mentioned just above.
As for the 2.2 update, I hope you're not expecting it on the Desire in a hurry. This is one of the reasons I stuck with the Nexus one. If you know anyone with a Hero, ask what version of Android they're on... I think 1.5 still... and the Hero came out what, 9 months ago?
i can hook up my desire on eclipse and take screen shots their
format (17-05-2010),j.o.s.h.1408 (17-05-2010)
i'l definitely need one of those. i already dropped my desire on the floor TWICE!!!!!!!!!
Great pics. Looks a nice case.
